40mm Day Date - RG or YG?

Would love to get viewpoints on RG or YG for a 40mm Day Date. Dial thoughts welcome too.

Looking in part to pair up with this duo.

RG, either olive or chocolate dial would work well.

there's no wrong answer here and it just comes down to preference. i prefer rolex yg to their rg and especially when it's a day date

Either choice is a winner. But don’t necessarily discount the WG.

He already has white gold in the BLRO.

OP it’s a completely personal decision soley based on colour of your own choice. I don’t like rose gold, especially Rolex rose gold. I have 6 or so YG watches a few white gold and not a single RG because that’s what I like. Other members here and friends of mine are the opposite.

What kind of info are you after because your post is really just asking other people their colour preference and people will argue what they personally like best untill they’re blue in the face :)

And you have “6 or so YG watches”….what’s your point?

My point is my personal preference is yellow gold, and not once during purchasing any of my watches did I stop to consider rose gold because I don’t like it, it’s not my personal preference - simple enough for you?

Fair points. I think this is the one that speaks to me, but that would mean another plain white dial…

I was going to suggest a black dial, or a darker dial considering the two watches you already own. Chocolate with the RG works beautifully :)

you could always go for the sundust dial if you want a similar theme but not plain white. i think it's a very underrated dial

Depends on your skin tone perhaps? I love rose gold, especially during summer tanning months.

I would opt for the YG. Everrose is a tad too red for my tastes.

I don’t think anyone can really argue against YG. It’s the classic DD. RG is softer (iMHO) but does get noticed. Perhaps you want to think about what dial you would want with your DD?
Again, I’m not sure you can go wrong….this is really a personal choice.

While I love the look of Rolex RG watches , I can never carry them as the RG clashes (or rather blend ) with my skin tone.

If you do not have this issue, then just pick the one that sings to you!

Happy watch hunting!

What skin tone works and does not work with RG?

I love both YG and RG, it depends on the combination with the color of dial.

For me I think RG goes best with Olive and Chocolate dial.

YG goes very well with Black and Green dial.

No wrong choice, it's personal preference, pick the one you love the most.

I enjoy both YG and RG. I went with RG DD40 because i already had the classic TT champagne yg datejust in my collection. Either metal will complement your collection. I don't think you can go wrong.
