Should i upgrade to 116500 ?

hello guys,
i have a 116520 daytona steel bezel black dial 2013 and i'm about to trade it with 2019 116500 white dial for additional $11K .Do you guys think is it worth it? thank you so much
both my watch and the 116500 are all in great condition and come in fullset.

Also does 116500 have any variatons aside from the new warranty card ? As i recall rolex changed the AR crystal for around 2020 into double sided AR crystal? i'm sorry if i'm mistaken

thank you so Much

Waste of money in my opinion. 99.9 percent of people won't know the difference. Same watch in my opinion. Keep the one you have and Use the funds to another model to your collection.

99.9% of people would be able to tell the difference between a white dial and black dial watch. Even non Rolex people.

I like the black dial 520, but I think the white 500 is on a different level, and yes I think it would be worth the premium.

its a good idea to upgrade to 116500 from your 116520. but 11k different is too much, under 8k additional cash would make it a better deal.

I don’t consider it an upgrade so I wouldn’t. Especially if I already have significant wear history with the original.

I think you will do great to keep the 520. There’s not much difference between the 520 and the 500 other than the ceramic bezel. The 520 is also discontinued while the 500 is still in production. Good condition 520s are something to be treasured.

I'm sure the 116500 will also be discontinued soon.

I have both and gotta say the 116500 is the better watch. See if you can negotiate a better price.

AR coating is on one side only - the underside. If this person with the ceramic Daytona paid retail for his, he would essentially be getting a 116520 for $1500 approximately. Sounds like a great deal for him

you sure it's possible to pay retail for a panda, without even spending history?

I wouldn’t pay almost the retail cost of a new Daytona for a 3-year old Daytona and lose my 9-year old Daytona in the process.

If I have a 116520 currently, I would not upgrade to 116500 instead I would add to the collection.....just not worth to spend more just for the ceramic bezel since both of the watches uses the same movement(4130) anyways

adding the watch would give you two generations of modern watches in your collection and assuming you don't sell it, it would be a vintage watch one day when you get old

with 11k you could get another one at list price... to me, the black daytona just looks best on the 20 version.

Really? Please tell me where I can buy a 116500 for $11k.

$14,450 + 7.75% tax in CA = $15,570
That’s MSRP plus tax. Your only off by $4,570.

For most people, MSRP is a fantasy or at least 5 years away, when retail price will be over $20k, adding tax, they will be nearly twice $11k.

The only upgrade if you think thats a upgrade, is a ceramic insert and the crazy asking price difference so hardly a up grade IMHO.

If the ceramic bezel is worth 11k to you, then do it. Me personally, I wouldn’t pay 11k to get the ceramic bezel.
