Guys,
I have an opportunity to buy this piece for $10,000. Does it pass the smell test? DM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It doesn’t pass the smell test for me. Quite a few issues and I’m not an expert.

Cyclops mag looks way off, insert and lower right lug looks terrible. Even if real, I would stay away.

In addition to the above comments, The bracelet is super stretched. The gaps are very noticeable

And the scratches around the case back make you wonder who was attempting to service.

The bezel insert is aftermarket. You can tell by the base of the "2s" in 22; they're in a straight line instead of curved concentric with the curve of the crystal.
Top photo is aftermarket; bottom is genuine Rolex.

It could be the poor quality pic but the dial fonts, and date look off. Also pretty sure it's the wrong type of clasp for a Master II.

The bracelet was my first thought, too. But more likely, IMO, that dial simply isn't original (even if genuine) and that watch is actually a GMT Master. Looking at the very bottom, it looks like a "Swiss Made" dial vs "Swiss-T<25" dial, as it's missing the hyphen. That dial would have been wayyyyyyyy after the demise of that style bracelet.

Glad you passed. Too many red flags as noted above to be sure. That bezel looks terrible... not even a good fake.

Good thing you passed. That bezel insert is the worst fake I've seen in a while.

Guy said it was a 2006, but nah, it didn’t “feel” right… something seemed off to me, too. Many thanks to all who commented!

Looks gen to me.
Specifically, like an older gmt pre 2000 (lug hole) with the original stretched flimsy hollow midlink bracelet with gen 501b endlinks, over polished crown guards, with a replaced newer superluminova dial and aftermarket crystal with poor date mag. |
