Revelation!
I am admittedly somewhat of an accuracy freak and I set my watch with the clock on the computer. Occasionally, every 2-3 days, my EXP-II would be suddenly off by -5 sec. or so, while a 24 hr. check would indcate a gain of +1sec. A thread here pointed out that the screensaver animation was keyed to the computer clock so I did a quick update on the innernet time and-Waller!-I was instantly off by -5 sec. All this time what I was seeing was the automatic upgrade on the computer clock. I feel so,... inadequate.

Yep.....I have said it more than once on a few different threads....here's a screen shot from my work computer......check the differences....they can't all be right/wrong at the same time....note that the TRF clock and the computer clock are the same......whereas the two web based clocks are 1:45/1:46 ahead....the web based ones are the ones to trust.....

I set mine by the digital clock on a television weather channel. I thought I was seeing things the other day when I saw it jump ahead a few seconds as I was waiting for the exact time to push the crown in and get the second hand to start moving off the hack. Set away.

Try doing this with a manual Rolex. eheh. I have to live with it being 20 secs off since my second hand won't stop when I pull the crown out.

Colnago,
How do you know the TRF clock isn't driven off the computer clock which can be manually reset? I just changed my laptop clock and the TRF time change to match, hmmmmm. |

... A computer clock is not usually a reliable source... It runs itself and updates at random times based on a non-resident signal..
There is some software you can add that checks a standard signal at set times, or while on, but that too will update your computer as it drifts..

I know exactly that....look at the image...the computer time and the TRF site time are identical.....I think the other guys said similar.....the time websites shown also in the image are the ones to trust.....
