How about a Rolex without a seconds hand?
Just a thought... I think most owners would never ever find out about or suffer from a movement problem :-)

Absolutely not, you can't see if the movement is working at a glance and you can't track its accuracy which makes it difficult to spot potential issues. Also, the magic of the 8bps gliding hand is part of the charm. A watch without a second hand looks like it's stopped.

Not for Rolex, but I've considered a Panerai two-hander before. I think it works well with some models. I could live without a seconds hand for the sake of the style of these (plus I don't like Panerai sub-secs dials)...

I have a 14 year old Panerai 000 with no seconds hand. Very basic and I absolutely love it.

I very much like the seconds hand. Indeed it will help showcase any problems with the movements early on, helps with timing and it looks pretty neat tbh.
