GMT Question (Pepsi vs. Rootbeer)

Hi - I am currently considering upgrading my SS oyster Pepsi to a full Everrose Rootbeer. Of note, this would be my only Rolex timepiece if I make the upgrade. Alternatively, I could buy another stainless piece to diversify from the Pepsi and have two pieces to wear.

Curious to hear what the group thinks and if anyone has a PM as their only watch. Thanks.

Buy another stainless steel. Better variety, solid investments, and more options.

Have you considered the TT CHNR?

Yes - great watch. Would probably diversify models and go for a Daytona if I keep the Pepsi. The TT is awesome though.

I personally love both the TT and full rose gold. Can’t afford the full rose gold yet. If you love your Pepsi, then like others said, TT is a great addition. If not, then just roll up to ever rose!

I don’t view any watch as a traditional investment but it does seem like SS holds value better than PM?

+1.

Hard to view as investments unless you are major player in watch world and get access to unobtainable watches.

Keep the Pepsi. Add a second piece.
If you go for the Rootbeer, check the TT.
I think it’s visually more appealing.

I prefer the visual balance and weight of the TT CHNR, but each to their own.

I think the TT CHNR and the SS BLRO make a great paring. There is enough of a difference to make it not seem like duplication.

Diversify, but I like a collection, big or small. I think I'd tire of just one watch. Actually, I know I would. YMMV.

Less of two evils for me, I would go root beer over the Pepsi, TT or full PM.

Welcome to TRF.
Have you had your Pepsi a long time? Do you have fond memories with it? Anything special about it to you?

If Yes, you may want to consider keeping your Pepsi and adding the Rootbeer.

Great advice already given in suggesting the TT root beer.

I love the full rose root beer but as a one and done I wouldn’t do it.

I’d either keep the Pepsi and add the TT root beer or better yet…sell the Pepsi, and add a TT root beer and a sub

I wouldn’t want 2 GMTs but that’s just personal preference…

I would not have PM as my only watch but if your lifestyle is not too hard on watches, I could see it as a viable option.

Personally, I'm not a fan of either two-tone or gold sport watches and would keep the SS Pepsi. However, if PM floats your boat and you like the rootbeer colors, go for it.

15CHNR is my go to Rolex. I got tired of wearing a Stainless Oyster like everyone else and I said I wanted to be different.

Difficult decision. PM is where it's at. If finance requires it to be an only watch sobeit.
Add back the Pepsi or a new Sub down the road.

Both are terrific options, but if it were me, I'd keep the BLRO SS and get another SS reference ... like Daytona, Submariner, Explorer II or SkyD.

The gold just wears differently because of its softness

For me the two is better than one with the RG GMT and SS Pepsi discussion. I would pick up a SS Rolex Diver, Submariner ND, and the BLRO and have a really nice two watch collection. I have been down the PM rabbit hole and still have a YG Sky-Dweller but my SS models get 99% of the wear.

GMT Question (Pepsi vs. Rootbeer)

The full rose chnr is a sweet watch for sure! However I don’t think you would want to wear it everyday. I’d get the tt plus a stainless. Or better yet get the full rose and a stainless. Or….if your like me and can’t decide, get both the tt and full rose!:)
