Quick SOTC... and soliciting advice. Am I really done with Rolex?

This kinda escalated. Fairly recently I only had the 16013 (family heirloom) and was resolved to sit Rolex out for a while until maybe things returned to some level of sanity and ADs had some stock.

Then I was able to get good deals through secondary market preowned on two watches I had wanted to try: 216570 and 124270. And then an admittedly impulse buy on another good deal: 114300 rhodium dial.

All of a sudden I went from 1 Rolex and sitting things out to 4. The 16013 is a special occasion wearer, but the other 3 I have no qualms about wearing them in near any situation day-to-day. Esp the ExpII, which has quickly become my fav. These 3 references are among a dwindling number of Rolexes I'd want to -and feel comfortable - wearing day to day nearly anywhere.

In theory, I'd like to own 5 sports references - Exp I and II, Sub, GMT Master, and Daytona. I don't necessarily mind going grey if prices come down to a more reasonable figure, even if they stay above MSRP. Having said that, I have hesitations about the 3 models I don't have that mostly come down to comfort wearing day to day.

Between social media making the hype pieces uncomfortably familiar to a lot of people AND crime, I know I would wear a Daytona and/or GMT Master II very sparingly and carefully. I still romanticize the idea of a Rolex being a "tool" watch you wear everyday without having to worry about it, and personally I couldn't be that carefree with a Daytona or GMT Master as I would my current Rolexes.

The Sub is kinda in that middle ground, it may also be a bit too familiar to people for my comfort. But my hesitancy over the Sub is I've had and sold them before, and I also love divers. Already own a ton of divers, and hope to add more. So I'm not sure if a Sub could get the same time of wrist time as I would give my Explorers, esp when they are competing not only with the Rolexes but also other divers in my collection.

And I have non-Rolexes that fill out my collection. Already mentioned I have a ton of divers. Also have a Speedy Pro for chrono and a Grand Seiko GMT. And some others.

So considering all the factors I laid out, have I basically gotten all the Rolexes that would fit my lifestyle? Should I still look to pursue a Daytona and/or GMT and scratch that itch? Or am I better off spreading that money around models/brands I'd feel more comfortable wearing day-to-day (like from Tudor, Omega, Grand Seiko, etc). I'm also considering if I'm going to wear a watch that would get a little less wrist time, I might move up the horological ladder and finally pursue that VC Overseas I've considered for a while. What are your thoughts?

tl;dr: Have Exp I, II, OP39. Remaining Rolex references I want (Daytona, Sub, GMT), can't see wearing as much as those others for various reasons. Do I still pursue them or move on to non-Rolex watches?

Asking a watch forum if you should get another watch is like asking a bartender if you should have another beer. Get the GMT, it’s a great watch.

Get the Daytona. Wear it everyday.

It’s a comfortable and easy wear. The worry will pass once you have it

I think you might be happy with a BB58. That's one you could enjoy and also have little to no concerns while wearing

I would wear the 16013 as my one watch continue the family tradition it can take it

Get you a day date. I am not sure where you live but crime isn’t that bad in many parts of the states. The only cities I would be iffy with wearing one all the time in is LA and Houston.

stay clear of mid-tier watches like Seiko, Tudor & co and go for the VC and Rolex Daytona instead

mid tier watches are not "safer" for daily wear and being less sought after collectibles they have worse value retention

and if loss/theft/burglary is of concern, make sure your top high-end pieces are properly insured and/or in bank safe.

Rolexes themselves have a great selection, though personally I would want to try different brands to spice it up a little. Either way, just don’t stop getting watches

Seems to me like you’re jonesing for a GMT or a Daytona.

If I were you, I’d tune out the white noise and buy either or both if you’re in a position to do so
