The definitive list of things NOT to do while wearing your Rolex

I was doing some work around my father's house yesterday, and ended up making a little "pocket dump" pile for greater comfort. That got me thinking. We tend do do a lot of stuff with our watches on-wrist. What would make you take it off?

I will start:

Sanding and painting around the house

That's a good one it will also pit the sapphire crystal and could cause internal damage if done underwater.

I would say operating a jack hammer would not do your watch any good.

Hammering (at least put it on the other wrist).

sticking hands into tight spaces .... No, not an OB/GYN thing, but some sort of house or appliance repair.

I think delivering a baby counts as something not to do with a Rolex on.

A was at the college financial aid office asking for financial aid for my daughter. Had the Sub on. Turned out to be a very bad choice.

I can't ever remember having a Boss or Human resources person with that kind of empathy or common sense.

I would pass on wearing while operating any type of saw or while painting. That's about the only time I take jewelry off.

I wouldn't wear one while dwarf-tossing at the pub.

Permit me to share with you what I posted on a similar thread: Rolex and Bunsen burners, formaldehyde and plutonium do not make for a harmonious mix.

Commercial Diving

I would not wear one while commercial diving and then later I worked on Nuclear Submarines and at Nuclear Power plants and definitely would not wear one in the the reactor compartment or the containment building. After that I used to service CNC milling machines and that was extremely messy and I would only wear a G-shock doing that.

Never ever wear your Rolex on "Sleazy Date Nite" in case you have to chew your arm off to escape.

A Pam is a lot softer than a Rolex. For this reason, I'm thinking my next watch is a Deepsea or a GMTIIc.

I always remove my watch when working under a car bonnet. 12 DC across your bracelet can get pretty warm.

I wouldn't paint, work on my car, cut the lawn/any yard work, or anything that could possibly "get" on the watch and cause permanent damage.

Panhandling or mugging anyone. I certainly wouldn't wear a Rolex with either activities. It's just not classy.
