Are premium rubber straps like Everest/Horus worth it?

Are they really that much better than cheapo rubber straps that are $100 or so?

I was pretty underwhelmed with the OEM Lange and Sohne strap I had relative to my much less pricey straps for example.

Everest, RubberB…all great brands and no complaints so far. For divers, many also go for isofrane

The prices are definitely exuberant but they are superior in quality and fitment by a mile to the lower cost options

Is no gap fit the bug difference?

Hmm is RubberB in the same quality level as the other two?

This thread has a lot of complaints

Everest and Rubber B are almost identical in style / quality. Isofrane altogether different. Made for diving/water. Nice thick rubber strap. Will last for decades. Numerous placement holes for good fit. But not made for looks like other 2 straps mentioned.

Horus uses a silicone type material that attracts dust and lint in a way that you couldn't believe. On a black strap, it looks terrible.

Are they worth the money? No way, but they are still better quality than a $30 strap you can find on Amazon.

Compared to oysterflex, not as supple but they are built to last a very long time.

Rubber B makes a nice strap for Rolex. I would never put anything "cheap" on my Rolex.

Rubber B is well worth it. Do you want to trust your $10K watch to a $50 strap?

Although pricey, the Rubber B is a high quality band and given the cost of the watch, I prefer the quality for a rubber strap.

Exactly this! I don't think I would trust a non-OEM strap on a expensive piece. If it broke. You would have no one to blame or recourse but your self. May even run into insurance issues.

OEM only for me.

Yeah I had a Zeitkwerk which is a lot more than that on a cheaper strap with 0 issues for a long time lol

I should add that I have a $230 rubber b strap, and I like it. Worth that much? No, but this hobby was never logical to begin with.

It wasn't terrible I suppose but it kind of cheapened the overall look of the watch and made it lose its premium feel on my wrist. Nothing against the quality of the rubber per se (Horus).

Was that an Horus strap? My guess is yes. Notice the list on the strap. That won’t happen with FKM rubber. I do not recommend Horus.

To me that does look terrible, particularly the buckle. But each to our own. Your watch, your choice.

I just put a Rubber B strap on my Daytona last night. Pretty pricey for a couple strips of rubber, but it does fit well and looks great.

Overall quality of the band itself is very solid and above the cheap stuff. Also, depending on the model the ability to use your factory clasp with the nicer brands may or may not be of importance to you.

Worth the money inherently? Of course not. Worth spending extra above the cheap stuff if you're dead set on a rubber strap? Probably and definitely is wanting to use your original clasp.

I can speak to Rubber B and Everest. Both excellent fits to the case. Can be a bit rigid to start especially as compared to something like oyster flex but they look great. I'll say the clasp on my Tudor using the Rubber B can get a bit uncomfortable if I'm between notches and using the tighter side but I can't fault Rubber B there.

Terrible experience with Horus so can't recommend them.

Based on my experience of having both. NEVER RUBBER B, EVEREST is the way to go.

I got to say it....are we complaining about a strap that costs a few hundred bucks to go on a watch that costs many thousands of dollars??

I own a PE firm that does consumer, and the price of the product has nothing to do with quality in most cases. :)

I get that, but in the case of rubber straps...the "expensive" ones are cheap compared to the watch and it pretty much has been established that Rubber is of better quality that your typical off the shelf varieties.
