Do Rolex make dials that have both Roman Numerals AND Diamond markers?

We purchased two pre-owned Rolex’s (his and hers) from our very reputable local jeweler. Two-toned datejust’s with Diamond markers on my husbands, and regular stick markers on mine. The coronet started tarnishing so I took it back. They replaced the dial with one that has Roman numerals AND Diamond markers. I don’t see any other Rolex that has both. I’m now very concerned with this purchase. We paid $13k for these two watches, and they are NOT perfect. My understanding is an authentic Rolex is suppose to be perfect. Our markers are off center etc. in places. I live in a large town, and this jeweler is one of the top jewelers in town. I’m now thinking we were sold some super fakes. If Rolex doesn’t make dials that have both Roman Numerals AND Diamond markers (all Diamond markers not just the vi), then I know for sure that my Rolex’s aren’t authentic, and proceed in getting our money back.

Thank you for reading my post. Please move it if I’ve posted in the wrong place. Thank you.

Yes, there is an OP 34mm 114234 that has one. It's unusual, can't recall another.

Thank you so much for your reply. Mine is a lady datejust 26mm 69173. I can’t find another dial that has both on it in this model at all. Hence, my suspicions for authenticity. Thank you, again, for your time replying to my post.

Lots of these older datejusts are modified with after market parts - doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not real it’s quite, or was, very common practice to set the dials and bezels and bracelets with aftermarket stones on the older day dates and datejusts.

Im no expert but I haven’t seen or can’t quite imagine what you actually mean without a photo.

There’s so many variations of the datejust that it could be original.

Does Rolex make a dial with both Roman Numerals AND Diamonds?

Sorry about the duplicate post. I was unable to add a pic to my original post. Here’s a pic of my Lady Datejust 69173 that I posted about earlier, and below is a duplicate of my original posted question.

If Rolex doesn’t make dials that have both Roman Numerals AND Diamond markers (all Diamond markers not just the vi), then I know for sure that my Rolex’s aren’t authentic, and proceed in getting our money back.

Thank you for reading my post, and any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I posted a pic in a new post. It wouldn’t let me add one to this post. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for reading my post.

It’s the top jeweler in Sacramento California. They’ve been in business for years.

Yes, unfortunately I did. I’ve had it only a few months now. It already loses time and days.

Bloody hell where did you buy it off of a market stall? I don’t feel like I’m qualified enough to say from a picture whether it could be genuine or not with confidence but it sure doesn’t look good.

Hi again, here’s a 114234 with the same dial layout, for comparison. The layout of Roman numerals and diamonds is the same but looks maybe cleaner and more precise. It’s hard to tell from pictures depending on resolution, lighting etc..

Look at that 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 on OP’s photo.
Does anyone really think Rolex would put Diamonds that far off that Numeral?

Seeing online the OP's DJ is a 69173 circa late 80s. Haven't seen a diamond version, with hash mark minute track, but regular markers version maybe more central.

Thats what concerns me. It’s NOT perfect. I’ve notified the Jeweler and he’s suppose to get back to me. It’s been a few weeks now and I still haven’t heard from him. I didn’t work with the owner. His sales manager at the store sold them to us.

Here’s a couple diamond dial that are much cleaner, the one with the dots specifically advertised as factory diamond dial. These are both the reference yours should be 26mm 69173

The hands are peeling too, besides the uncentered stones, and uneven spaces between some letters.

Thanks for confirming my concerns are valid.

Yes Rolex made diamond Roman dials but they should look clean like these real lady datejust dials.

I took that pic today when I made the original post. Notice it’s off a day, and I already corrected the date once this month.

When you set the date it’s important to make sure both the watch and your knows it’s in the afternoon or morning, otherwise it will change late or early by 12 hours which may lead you to think it’s not changing properly.

You need to move the minute hand until you pass 12:00, the date will change by itself if it’s midnight but won’t if it’s midday. That’s how you know what time the watch thinks it is.
