Landing an Unexpected Navitimer

Over the weekend, my wife and I walked by a Breitling Boutique and decided to stop in to take a look. We had no intentions of buying anything, but the Navitimer has always been a watch that has been on my bucket list. The sales associate graciously showed us a few pieces, including the reverse panda dial that my wife really liked, and we left the store. Later that day, I received a text and picture from the sales associate about how he should have shown me the 747 edition that just came out—given my enthusiasm for aviation. I hadn’t yet heard about the release, but the 747 is my favorite aircraft type, and I have fond memories of flying on the upper deck on trips to Asia growing up. I also loved the dial combination. We managed to make it back to the store 2 minutes before closing to take a look in person.

I’m happy to present my first Navitimer! Caution wake turbulence 😂

Fantastic, congrats! This is a cool piece historically and the first incoming thread here I've seen. It's nice to see the accessories they've included here, Breitling is a fantastic brand. Enjoy in good health and keep the pictures coming.

I love that version. It looks fantastic! Good choice. Isn’t it interesting how we WIS tend to acquire watches when we have no original intent to do so. We just went into the store to “look”.

Oh man these are so nice. I really like the aviation tribute Navitimers like this, the Swissair and the Pan Am. Enjoy!

Curious what you mean. Was this in a boutique that they were holding it for a customer?

The days of 15-20% off on a new Breitling have been gone for a few years. Under George Kern's leadership (a good thing), they have strengthened control of their distribution and prices have remained stable. The last time I saw 10% at an AD was more than two years ago, then it dropped down to 5% two years ago. Again, a good thing for the value of the watch.
