Icon14 New Grand Seiko Tentagraph SLGC001 Chronograph

Wow! Didn’t notice this a couple days ago. Fully automatic GS chrono, Caliber 9SC5, blue dial. What’s not to like?

MSRP likely around $14k

The 4.30 date window and the name. I get the meaning of the name (Ten beats per second, Three day power reserve, Automatic chronograph) but it looks/sounds like it's made for camping.

All of this. Plus I'm sure it's a mile thick like all GS.

It should be said, though, that a large percentage of GS are 9F quartz (especially in Japan where they are the most popular movement), which are mostly only about 10mm thick

Quartz models, yes. I own a 9F quartz model.

Honestly it’s just the name that ruins it for me, why put it on the dial?

Other than that it’s killer

Like a lot of GS sport watches, it’s just too big for me. The name is so ridiculous I almost like it.

While the triple nipple has some flair and can be recognized at first glance, this one is really uninspired.

And lacks the power reserve and the GMT feature.

I like the watch but the price moves it to another level. I will try one on when my AD gets one but will likely pass.

Too big for me and way to overpriced. Get it used in 3 months for 10k

Neat watch, it'll be great to see some of those comparison / review videos. I like the overall design of this piece and wouldn't be surprised if the dial has elements of the attention to detail this brand is known for.

72-hour power reserve, 36000 beats per hour and 60 jewels. I think the case size is justified. Personally I love the nightime Iwate dial pattern. Well done to the folks at Grand Seiko.

Appreciate the innovation, but the thickness and dial proportion is just way off balance. Not to mention is $14k at retail and just another watch trying to compete with El Primero or Daytona.

I prefer the slightly off kilter dial layout and chunky pushers of the older GS chronos...

This one isn't horrible, but it's not stand outy either.....

I’d say the SBGC001 or SBGB001 is the sharpest, most visually well balanced spring drive chronograph GMT that GS has come up with so far.

It's really quite boring in it's design and the price is just silly.

The spring-drive Chronographs are way cooler INHO...they are too expensive @ retail as well, but the market know this and they sell for 50% off used.

I agree that pre-owned "like-new" SBGC201/203 for 5k$ are an absolute steel for what you get.

It’ll be 50% off preowned soon enough. I’d consider buying it then.

These chunky beasts all have shockingly poor resale value.

Who even wears these big watches? Even guys as big as Stallone and Arnold don't look good with these.

It is. Big beautiful beast of a watch. I love it.

Titanium construct helps keep the weight down. Wears very comfortably too.
