not worn sub 126610-002

Just got brand new sub 126610-002 as a birthday gift for myself. This is my first premium watch. I use to own things and treat them very carefully. There is the question: if i just keep them unworn, put it under glass at home, see it everyday and being satisfied that i own them, will it be good investment? I mean, if any real price increase in years for starbucks sub or the idea is not worth it?

It's not a rare watch, I can't see a massive premium for an unworn watch down the line, best just wear it.

Have to agree Rolex watches are meant to be worn and enjoyed for many years hopefully in good health now thats far more important. Than keeping a watch under glass because of some perceived investment obsession by many today.

Добро пожаловать Антон,

I would just wear the heck out of that watch for many years to come. Keep it long enough and odds are you'll be getting your money back, or more, should you ever decide to sell it, even worn. Especially if you bought it at retail price. Rolex "pays" you to wear their watches

Wear your watch! It’s not a “proper” investment.

If you don't wear it, you'll be missing out on the best reason to "invest" in a Rolex:

The enjoyment of wearing the watch is also a form of profit.

And congratulations!

So you are basicly asking us investment advice on a watch forum? This is a hobby of ours. Wear the watches and enjoy them. Possible appreciation is sort of collateral damage which is nice but not necessary.

You'd cry if you saw my watches.

When my kids inherit them one day they won't wonder if I ever wore them!

If I had the choice of getting a NOS Sub from my dad or one he wore every day for his entire life - it would be an easy choice. The one he wore every day!

These post are good advice. I have owned several Rolexes over the years. When I have sold them, I have usually got my money back or a little more. Unless it is a very rare watch, there are better ways to make money.

It’s a mass produced item. It’s never going to be worth a fortune

Wear it and enjoy it

Of course, it will be worth more in mint and unworn condition vs. used but why did you buy it? It's a stupid place to just park money.

Wear it! I assume you are asking with the news of the new lighter green color? I don’t think that will make the value increase or decrease that much now or in years to come. Watches are meant to be worn.

Imagine depriving yourself of enjoying your watch by wearing it for years, only to see a 10-20% premium Dian the road when you sell it. I would personally not do that unless you had a big watch collection and wouldn’t miss it.

Congratulations on the watch!

Wear you Sub in good health - that’s the best return on your ‘investment’ !

Lol - your photo reminds me of the time about 5 years ago I gave my in-laws a bottle of Skull vodka (they’re in Rostov) - it still sits unopened in a display cabinet too !

Hah, hah - in contrast my uncle (in Liverpool) had the bottle drained in minutes - then we were all off to the pub !

this bottle was emptied many years ago by my father and his friend in my early 20th, just like the design and saved it;)

Wear the heck out of it, and make marvelous memories while wearing it. Those 'scratches,' as some call them, are memories of fun times 'recorded' onto the metal. Even when your wife's diamond wedding ring scratches the crystal, that's a fun memory of great times together 'recorded' onto the crystal.

Best bet, wear it and go make happy fun memories of your own.
