1680 red sub dials have a “silver”/shiny coating?

I haven’t seen this written about anywhere but so far my experience has been that some 1680 red dials seem to have a silvery undertone to them (makes it almost have a shinier quality). In contrast to 1680 *white* dials which are varying shades of matte black but never have a shiny quality to them

Has this difference been noted anywhere? Maybe for the 1680 red dial there’s a more silvery paint or the actual dial disc itself was a shinier finish or something before being painted?

I find it to be super distinctive of 1680 red subs (and super attractive) but haven’t seen any mention explaining it

Very hard to capture in photos. This photo seemed to capture a little of the effect (shows the silver effect. Hard to capture the shiny quality tho)

You mean the chocolaty hue? Mine has no silvery sheen. But that rich chocolate is yummy.

I'm not certain what exactly you're seeing. To be sure, these dials aren't, strictly speaking, black. Not like the previous and subsequent glossy dials. They're very dark grey, really, which as all grays do, will show some silvery essence in light.

No one sees it? I own 3 red subs and 3 white ones and I’m telling you the materials of the dials are very different

Many red sub dials are also speckled
