2023 26420: Ceramic+Yellow Gold or End of Days

Let's say you have access to either one as your first AP, which one would you choose?

I have seen the ceramic/yellow gold in person.

For me, I like the "End of Days" version better.

1. It just looks better to me. I personally don't really like yellow gold. The one dial is also cleaner than the yellow gold version as the gold markings in the yellow gold version makes the dial a bit too busy for me.

My ideal watch would be the yellow gold version in rose gold, and take the end of days dials and turn the markers to rose gold too. No gold sub-dial rings.

2. It's the de facto 30th anniversary watch, and it's a "limited edition"

However, I am over concern about other people's perception...

While gold and ceramic are priced the same by AP, I think the yellow gold still pop more, and looks more expensive to a normal person. I know a watch should be for your own enjoyment, but a part of me still want people to know that I paid $60K for the watch and think of it as a black coated steel watch. I live in a relatively safe city, so mugger / theft is not a big concern.

Leather/gold combination gives a luxury feel, which IMO contrasts with the sporty essence of an offshore. End of days feels more consistent, albeit much more casual.

End of days for me for sure

I like the end of days, but would prefer the strap without the yellow contrast stitching on the strap.

Agree it would look better with an all black strap.

End Of Days for sure. I love the yellow stitching on the strap too. Anyone seen an image of the second strap in Yellow calfskin?

Just wish it wasn’t £52k

Just a 10sec (and $600) change.

I agree but i think the YG comes with the black rubber strap, so I’d choose that and switch straps ASAP.

Love the honesty! I like the EOD watch myself.

I tend to prefer gold and PM but on the offshore line I find it not as appealing. EOD looks great.

Gold and black combo is cool and striking.
