Rolex Daytona 116520

Please can anyone help with advice on buying a black dial 116520 unpolished full set? Prices seem to vary in UK from £17k upwards, I want to wear so dont need stickered. I am concerned about lost or stolen and frankanstien. Any advice would be of value. Thanks.

Aside from what Mark020 said, post pics here on TRF to let the experts weigh in on originality and authenticity. If you do buy from a trusted seller they are much more interested in continuing to sell more watches than trying to screw someone over who will then damage their reputation with claims of fakes and franken watches. Do searches of the person you think you are dealing with on this forum and others to see if there is any history. Have face to face video conversations if a private seller. If you get bad vibes walk away. Don't wire money unless you have fully vetted said person as much as possible prior to purchase. Get a copy of driver's license, is it legit and does it match the person you spoke with via video. Make sure the watch is actually in their possession. Do a search for the serial number online to see if it pops up. There is surely more but that is all I can think of at the moment…

Just do a ton of research and buy from a seller with impeccable references, and you’ll be fine.

It’s good that you don’t “need” a stickered 116520, because the odds of finding one eight years after it was discontinued are slim.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys. I have a couple of older Speedies but not been brave enough to buy used Rolex yet.

I am now known as Jane formally Steven because I could not get back in my account and had to register a new one in my wives name!!

Here are some images for you of the 116520 I have lined up. Supplied by a well known UK dealer a 2007 model. I am told it is NOS unworn, it does have 8 stickers left on, I would be very interested in everyone's comments as this would be my first vintage Rolex. Does it look ok and in good condition? Unpolished for me its hard to tell.

Website is playing up so I will add images later!

At what age is a watch considered vintage? This piece seems modern to me.
