Called my AD earlier today regarding cleaning my GMT Master.
They recommended that I use a tooth brush and Simple Green. I couldn't believe it. So, since I used some Simple Green foam (for BBQ grills) last weekend, I took the chance - just like the guys on another forum who use Scrubbing Bubbles. This pic doesn't "do the watch justice", but it shows the spray can ....

I would be very skeptical of using something like that.
While it should never be able to touch the gaskets if it was to happen it may dry them out or cause them to dry out and crack quicker. |

You've got a good point.
I think that one time shouldn't be a problem, especially since I got her serviced a year ago. Perhaps the regular Simple Green spray, the minty smelling green liquid that we used in the Army to clean our TA-50 with, was probably what the AD was really referring to. Maybe there's no difference between the two? The foam can does say "non-corrosive", but to what?

Just take the bracelet off, that's what I do with the scrubbing bubbles.

Personnally I would only use just plain water>>>
it works fine with water and my fingers and comes out sparkling. I don't think you really need anything else, especially chemicals.

Simple Green makes a lot of biodegradeable cleaners......
I'm not sure that a Rolex needs the heavy duty BBQ Grill stulff.........

I use soap and water and once a month I have the bracelet steam cleaned at my AD!!!

I just use the liquid hand soap in the bathroom at work. Makes it look like brand new.
