Although not a fan of paying extra for anything over retail from say a AD, but its better than some think they must do, thats to buy $100000 of say jewellery to buy a Rolex watch from a AD. But if everyone stopped playing these so called AD games, then perhaps we could get back to normal, thats before Rolex watches had become just ££$$€€ object things sold to highest bidder.

To the original poster congratulations wear your new watch in good health thats far more important.

What was normal even just a few years ago no longer is, mainly because the modern Rolex buyer is a "collector" who strives to own as many watches as possible. To see meaningful availability of product would require a dominant "one watch only" mentality emerging as being the new cool.

I think you did the right thing, and took advantage of grey market prices down. It’s not a 39$k watch it’s with a 6% tax almost 45$k. retail is US$41,500
Great watch!

Great watch!

Bingo bongo!

I think a good bit of posters from time to time forget the tax bill. Its still money paid.

45k from the A D if you ever get called, which you wont because A D's know about every model's hype meter, or 51k with the watch you want on your wrist? Hmmmm. Let me think about that for a second. Ok I'm done. 51k it is

I had an S A about a yr ago mention the pink O P to my wife and he said "you know that watch is going for triple right now" to which she/we said great do you have one?

Life is short. You can replace money easier than time. Good call O P and congrats. Its a stunner.

What a great watch! And a forever-watch.

If I were you, I'd tell my AD that I'm now interested in a different Rolex altogether. They've already played emotional games by trying to keep you emotionally invested in a lottery that you could win tomorrow or 10 years from now...or never.

That's their prerogative. Yours was to 'move on' and get what you want. They played games before acquisition but you can break free so they don't bring down the joy of your acquisition if they tell you they miraculously have one.

No need to worry about it because you won the game and this is confirmed every time you look down at your wrist.

You sure? It’s literally in the picture and there’s a van in it that’s about to rear end the OP

ADs are in a pickle. A watch that lists for 39K but brings 51K in the grey market. Either the customer flips the watch or the AD dose. It’s a wacky market.

It won’t be all profit for the grey dealer , first The flipper would have sold it for about 44k to a grey wholesale dealer , who then would have sold onto a retail grey for about 48k who sold it the buyer for 51k

Superb. What AD is out there? Ben bridge? Hyde Park? Can’t imagine
You’d ever get off the wait list. Good work

Congrats, you made the correct call going grey. Easier to make up for lost money than lost time.

No, because life is too short.

What you should have done (IMO) is perhaps apply a little less HDR filtering to your image
