How long were you on the waitlist?

Hello everyone! I am just curious to know if you were on a waitlist, how long were you on that waitlist for before you got the call and what watch was it for?

First watch in 2014. Batman, gmt ii.. Walked into the store and had plenty to choose from. Discount of 12% off msrp.

WG Daytona was 18 months around after registering interest 2018/2019. Picked up summer of 2021. 3% discount off msrp.

Most recent two (explorer ii and wg datejust for my wife, fluted bezel) was about 4 months - summer of 2022. Purchased before most recent msrp increase at msrp.

I also will be on my 5th purchase with my AD for my next interest so that I think also matters along with macroeconomic considerations.

Wow!! Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought Rolex AD's weren't allowed to discount off of MSRP? I thought they had to be sold at retail. Maybe that wasn't the case back then?

No idea but it happened, this was outside of the US so there was a tax benefit as well.

discounts from ADs were quite common back in the day. market has always been supply and demand driven.

That is amazing. Wish that I could purchase one from the AD for a discount off MSRP. Those days are long gone...

I walked into the AD and bought a 116610LV and 116710BLNR around 2015-2016. Same with my Explorer II in 2013. My 126710BLRO, I waited a week for in 2021; but that was largely because Ihad bought a lot of Rolex and IWC watches from my AD over the years. I've never really waited for a Rolex though if there was something I really wanted, I would be willing to.

Bought new from a grey dealer in 2014 for a nice 10% less than list.

Waited about 3 months for my partner's DJ31 and about 5 months for my CHNR

BLNR jubilee: ~2 months
Bluesy: 5 days
Panda Daytona: <2 months
Ladies DJ TT everose MOP diamond dial: 5 months

Haven’t expressed interest yet as I don’t have a deserving milestone but I am thinking of a BLRO on oyster. Will start counting once I make the contact with my AD

116710LN - walked in, purchased out of display case, 5% discount.........2008 :)
126622 slate - 6 months, 20 days....delivered 10/21
124300 blue - 9 months, 21 days....delivered 12/22
226570 polar - 11 months, 4 days....delivered 5/23

Also want to mention my SA gave me a range up front for potential wait times. And each time he delivered the watch at the beginning of that range. The 226570 was nearly a full month before the given range (12-18 months) began.

Same here brother. I cant even keep up with the ones I've asked for, didnt ask for, got, and got offered. Think that about covers it

All except One,,,, been waiting for a 505 for probably close to 2 years. Kinda frustrating especially when I hear from others that a 505 isnt "as hard" but now that they are no more I have pretty much given up.

Been looking at Grey prices. Maybe...

Fortunately (and unfortunately lol) for me, I have zero patience, so I usually end up going gray on any watch I really really want.

Just one of the many reasons IMO I find it ridiculous for people to bash buying from the secondary market. If I followed the advice to wait for my AD I'd never own anything. Additionally, in the last couple years, 2 of my ADs lost Rolex partnerships and at my main AD my SA just quit this year.

I totally understand. It makes it tough too when there are so many other variables like you are saying.

The waitlist that my AD has is imaginary if you are hoping to get any "in demand" piece at MSRP. This applies to SS sport models and Rolesor and PM pieces that trade above retail. The wait for these models could range from a few days to a couple of weeks generally, but it will cost you somewhere around current market value. Their sales policy is not to leave any money on the table.

If you put your name on the list for a Pepsi or a Daytona and never hear from them, then there is the clue.
