I traded my Grand Seiko...for a Grand Seiko
Going out: the SBGW279 "Oruri"
Coming in: the SBGW267 "Asakage" Really liked the dynamic blue dial of my Oruri but found myself wanting a more neutral dial to fill the role of "dress" in my collection. Enter the Asakage, a European boutique-only edition. I was fortunate enough to stumble upon an owner of it in the states who was willing to do a straight up trade for my Oruri. Anyway, I am very pleased. I've always had a thing for silver dials, and this one is absolutely fantastic.

Congratulations Matthew
That dial sort of reminds me of the textured linen dials of old. Enjoy it |

I like it Congratulations! I can envision you already considering what straps and colors you can play with now.

Thanks! Yes the strap urge is definitely going to be a problem with this one. I may already have one on the way from Delugs.

That's a stunning dial, congratulations.
The collection in your signature is really well rounded. Which watches get the most wrist time? |

Thanks for the kind words everyone, appreciated. I'm actually going through a bit of a phase right now where I have the urge to downsize the collection. I had an IWC Mark XV that is leaving. Strongly considering listing my 2531.80 in the next couple of days. I've even considered giving up my 214270, but trying not to be hasty there. The two mountains to climb for me are chrono and GMT. I've got my eyes on the new Speedmaster '57 and I'm on "the list" for a BLRO - which I am in no rush at all to acquire. I think my desired end game is a solid collection of no more than five watches which all get regular wrist time. I don't like thousands of dollars sitting in a box and never getting used.
