RSC service complete on GMT WG with dial change

Well folks, I decided to change the dial on the 116719 WG GMT from black to the blue. I decided that I have enough of the black dial watches and to be honest, I always wanted to get the blue dial WG GMT. Since it came out, the distinction of a WG GMT to the SS is the dial. I saw the blue dial GMT in the flesh this last summer and decided to make the switch. Project complete! Love the outcome

In some lighting it looks black, then a bright blue and dark blue. Fascinating.

Congrats! Read that when they introduced the blue GMT they offered to black dial WG owners to switch for free and they even issued new warranty card with the blue dial color in the description (Dr. Tom said so in his case); do they still do that ?

Thanks! They did offer that previously. But, no more. They cost was 700CAD and plus a full service. At least I do end up with two more years international warranty.

I'd rather have the blue dial also. Nicely done.

One of the best blue dials that Rolex makes, great choice!

Congrats Nick!! Looks awesome; side note I see you’re posting wrist shots from inside the prancing horse…fair to say your knee is doing ok or still waiting for surgery? Not trying to derail your thread but when I saw your post it reminded me I meant to follow up with you and see how you’re doing.

Hey Steve! Your right, the horsie has been out and about! In regards to the knee, the orthopedic surgeon strongly advised me to do aggressive rehab without the surgery as my ACL still has about 10% left. He said the reconstruction is much to invasive at this point. He says I will be able to squat, jump and run along with workout the way the knee is right now. If I am not happy in the next six months or so, he can always schedule the surgery. So for now, I am working out, doing daily exercise for the legs and am able to pretty much do everything. The only things at the moment that I cannot do is play hockey or downhill ski. Those are biggies for me, possibly with a brace I could do this, but we shall see. Thanks for checking in!

Well if you can get in and out of your car I’d say you have squatting covered

Glad to hear it’s coming along well; back to the topic at hand the watch looks awesome!!

Out of curiosity, did RSC let you keep the original dial?

Don't think I ever realized that the 116719 was available with the blue; I thought that the color switch happened with the intro of the 12 series. Great color.
