almost bought a GMT GRNR

I "accidentally" walked into an AD when wife was shopping at Costco, and to my surprise they have GMT yellow gold TT GRNR available for purchase. I put it on my wrist and the everything look right except those numbers on the bezel.
I struggled for 2 minutes and walked out without it.
Am I being stupid? I feel like buying a Rolex now is like a paradox. For anything I want they are always out of stock. For those in-stock ones I keep telling myself there must be a reason that nobody wants it.

If you don't like the watch, I wouldn't buy it. For me I'm not a yellow gold type of guy so I would have did the same.

Yes, buy a £32k watch that you don’t want, that you won’t make any money on, and which deprives an enthusiast of the chance to buy the watch new

‘just because it’s there‘.

Good advice in a forum for enthusiasts

I doubt most buyers are enthusiasts.

For me, if I'm not going to wear it much, I won't buy it. During Rolex peak shortage, I turned down an SD43 that I'd been lusting over because, as soon as it went on my wrist, it was all wrong. I could just tell.

I might have made a little $$ on a flip at that time - but that takes time and I'm not in it for that, at all.

So no, I think you did the right thing, for you!

Buy it, sell it for a massive profit, you owe no-one anything, least of all a bunch of strangers on a chat forum !

Profit would allow buying watch of your choice even at grey prices ..

I'm not saying I would do that, but it is an option ...

actually the precious metal GMT or Sub are not selling with a "massive" premium in grey market. Only those SS ones are doubled the price there.
It's not worth the effort

If you don't like it, leave it.

There is someone who will buy and enjoy it and should have the same opportunities.

Fair enough, was more tongue in cheek comment .. not seen many on resale yet .. seems most models PM don't command to high a premium ..

I tried it on yesterday. Way too flashy. You’re asking to be robbed.

yes, that's my feeling too.

I have a TT DJ in yellow gold somehow that one seems more subtle. But when it comes to GMT TT, it's way too conspicuous.
Not sure why, maybe the shining numerals on the bezel make it so.

If Rolex didn't manipulate the supply, the majority of today's buyers would likely refrain from purchasing or pursuing many of the pieces they currently do

I'm eager to see the Brittany Griner in person. I want to see the full gold version though.

Just tried on an exhibition piece a couple days ago.

I’d like to know as well. I feel I won’t like the answer though.
Maybe folks got tired of soda pop & cartoon character names… but to go after people now is truly tasteless!

First I’ve heard it referred to as a “Britney Griner”, but I’m just guessing it’s a play off of the “GRNR” part of the reference number.

GRNR. If people are going to make up incredibly stupid nicknames I won't be left out.

Prediction : this is not going to be a long term hot model. Soon to be available at Greys for MSRP (just like the Ti YM42)
