Cool watch and if they are offering it at a fair discount then why not. This is not a watch I would pay full retail for as they get destroyed in resale/trade value and can be found with a little searching for significantly less than msrp. Let us know what you decide.

It's nice, Steve! I 100% agree with William on this, if it gets a decent discount and you like it enough, definitely go for it. Otherwise the resale value situation can be used to your advantage if you prefer to buy for significantly less than MSRP. Either way, I hope you get it soon!

It’s a great looking watch Steve.

If you are flush from winnings, why not treat yourself.

Thanks for all the input guys! Didn’t end up getting it on this trip. I had found it at a Breitling AD, but since they weren’t discounting I decided if I’m gonna pay retail I might as well get it from my Rolex AD (multi brand store) down there since at least it’ll count towards my overall purchase history.

My AD didn’t have this exact configuration in stock, but they are going to work on getting it for me and shipping it up to me once it comes in, so I’ll do a proper incoming whenever I get it! I know these don’t hold value on the secondary market but honestly I don’t care; I like the watch and I’m going to enjoy it, so to me it’s worth MSRP. Plus if my Rolex AD gets me a GMT as a result of this additional purchase it would be a wonderful bonus!

That's an excellent plan, Steve! Under those circumstances there's nothing wrong with paying MSRP, you seem certain about the watch, plan to keep it in the collection, and it'll also help expedite getting your desired Rolex sport model at your AD in some way. All wins in my books! The caution of resale is especially if someone is unsure or might end up wearing it for several months then onto the next, it's important they know if they don't already but clearly that's a non issue here! Excited for the official incoming thread, congratulations!

I’d get the version with the B01 movement instead with a nice discount.

Thought about that, but honestly I really like the day/date feature and the extra power reserve doesn’t matter to me since I usually pick a watch to wear for the week and my other automatics are on a winder. I do agree it’s a great movement though, and that display caseback is rad!

Makes sense. I'd add the rubber mesh strap as well but just buy the version with the tang buckle. It's already very comfortable so no need to spend a few hundred dollars on the deployant.

Sweet thanks for the tip! I really love the mesh metal bracelet appearance, but a rubber strap for hot summer days could be perfect!
