Too early to ask for a daytona?

I finally got the call for a pepsi. I have a good relationship with my AD. Is it a good time to ask for a SS daytona or would I just get embarrassed? In my head out of all the SS models, the daytona is all that's left as a grail in the SS that is harder to get than a pepsi.

I have always believed it is better to enjoy the one you just got, then to immediately ask for another. YMMV

My sentiments too. Isn't it nice to finally have a Pepsi?

Give it a little time to enjoy your fine new watch before setting your sites on another.

My 2 cents. Cheers.

Congrats! If you don't ask you don't get. I would tell your SA that you are interested in which particular version of Daytona and ask for a timeline. If he simply say it's not going to happen then you know. But be sure to read between the lines.

I collected my new Sub Date yesterday from my AD and he was telling me about his previous customer that day, sold him his first watch with them a d before even trying his new piece on wrist, he asked how long till he can get a SS Sky Dweller. Didn't go down at all well apparently. I guess it depends how and when you bring the subject up.

Funnily enoug, the new Daytona is hopefully my next piece at that AD hit I stated my collection plan from the outset and that seemed to work for me.

Congrats on the Pepsi first! Getting a call for that itself is an accomplishment! Jubilee or oyster?

Also, ask after the transaction is done and you’re about to leave the store.

I asked for a Daytona the first time I walked into any and every AD. Finally, I hit it off with some sales people at one particular D about six years ago and ever since then they’ve been getting me the hor and hard to get stainless steel professional models. Finally, they called me for my SS white Dial Ceramic Daytona back in 2020. It’s as simple as just asking until you find the right AD/salesperson to come through for you

Congrats on the new watch!

They are there to sell watches, why be afraid to ask.

Enjoy your new watch. Doesn’t mean you can’t ask in the meantime…

Congratulations on acquiring the first Pepsi! Receiving a call for it alone is an achievement! Are you opting for the Jubilee bracelet or the Oyster bracelet?

Congratulations. It's a fantastic watch and getting one from an AD tends to be comparatively difficult. As for your next watch, if you don't ask you don't get. Good luck with it.

I also got my Pepsi 2 months ago, and did ask for datona.
I dont like Datona at all, the Dial is too busy to me.
But it is the only Rolex model I am missing in my collection
So I asked, and was told may happening this year

Lol what

You’re only buying it to “complete” some collection?

From the SA point of view he might put you on the ignore list after giving you this huge favor of getting the BLRO and straight away wanting the next hot model.
That is very greedy.

Be happy for now and show your interest a little later

IMO we are never "asking" to spend our money. We are "offering" to give them a sale...never forget that dynamic, regardless of what the current market state is perceived to be.

I ask for the chocolate lava cake for dessert before I order my meal.

If I don't ask for it up front, I'm stuck with plain cheesecake as dessert.

OF COURSE YOU ASK.
