GMT Master II
Been looking at these closely lately as my next purchase and last month went down on the list for a CHNR which is my favourite variant. However….
Handled a few SS models and really, really liked them, having previously discounted them for some reason. The BLRO on jubilee is absolutely awesome but don’t have the spend or the patience. Was thinking of getting a 117610LN or BLRN on oyster but can’t really decide between them. The main reason for my post is although I love the look of the PCL, I just think I’d prefer brushed and wondered if anyone had gone down that route. Also are there any GMT pictures to help me decide? |

GMT Master II
People definitely have brushed the PCLs. I don’t have pictures but plenty out there.
Personally, I’m not into modifications and I really like tje PCL look on GMTs and Daytonas. But it is very easy and relatively inexpensive to brush them out if you choose to. It’s an option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As above there’s are a few folks here who have brushed their PCL’s. Hopefully one of them will post here
Good luck in the search |

The center PCL are def a scratch magnet. I’m OCD about my watches and wear them carefully though.

I love the look of PCL. Gives the watch an extra pop. Adds a little variation to your collection. Having the CHNR, sub and blro with PCL myself is great

Here you go, bud.
Brushing the links helps chill it out a lot, but the bezel is still a mess. I have reached out to the watch works place in CA to see if they’d bead blast it to try and chill it out a bit; but it won’t help with the unnecessarily glossy dial nor the lack of AR coating on the crystal. Imho, the jubilees suit the watch better, as they seem more balanced in terms of bracelet width. The LN, however, never came with one. I’ve no time at all for the gmt bruise that is the BLNR, so my preference would be the LN. However, if functionality is not important, then 12/10 buy a 16750. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Regarding your comments, is the ceramic bezel and dial on the 116710 not the exact same colour and glossiness as the sub-c? |

Yes they are — and they’re too shiny imho. They’re exactly the same, but the bezel numbers and font seem to emphasise the glossiness somehow; it shows far glossier than does the 41mm sub, side by side. What this watch needed was a matte bezel and a matter dial (something like the SD4000 or so). It’s really very shiny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The good thing is that it is easy to do and reversible.
Nothing to worry if you don’t like it after all

Love the polished center links, just picked up one up this morning after trading in my 1999 explorer 2 white face to a local private dealer

I put the brushed bracelet from my 116610 on my 126710BLRO. It just didn't look right. I guess I'd got used to the PCLs. Kept it on for a week but ended up switching back. It's on a Jubilee now, which is a more comfortable bracelet and is an homage to the original 6542.
Each to their own. Choice is good. |
