Do you own a safe?

I've been considering buying a safe to store my valuables. If you own one please post some pics and offer advice on what to look for and what brands are the best bang for the buck.

Mike,

what part of Kentucky are you in? I'm in Cincinnati and I know a guy who sells and delivers pre-owned safes, he services N.Ky, Indiana and Cincinnati/Dayton area. I bought a TL-30 rated safe (commercial grade) for less than 3rd of the cost of a new one. I would highly recommend one.

I own an Amsec safe and bought it from a local locksmith. They told me the brand is one of the best on the market so check with the locksmiths in your area!!!

I own one, and its full of things we can't talk about here, so no pics. However, I'm with Joe on this, at least with Browning unless you can afford high end commercial. Brownings are very good for the dollar. I don't know about Majors, but I'm sure they are excellent. I have a custom made unit from a respected company I wont mention. It's an Excellent unit, very customized to my needs, but I will never do business with them again. Matters of principal....

I think there are a couple "safes" in the drawer in the bathroom.

here is a pic of my remington sportsman... very good price and has 5 bolts... they start to cost a lot more when they have the bolts that go on the top and bottom as well.

My safe is small and only weighs in at 300 lbs. but it has a very good rating for fire resistance and will stop all but the best burglars(Amsec))!!!

I own a large safe and it's wonderful knowing that my valuables are tucked away in there and that no one will get to them. Plus the sucker is screwed down to the ground. I would recommend it for people who own jewelry, guns, important documents.
