Extract from the archives - worth it or not?

Has anyone gone with an extract option from Audemars when going for a service, and was it worth the $540 cost?

What I'm hearing from the AD makes me think no - it almost seems as if the same information from a service receipt would contain the same information on it - but curious to know your opinions.

From what I've learned...the extract from Archives shouldn't be needed if you have original papers or even recent service papers. The extract only indicates that the sn is in the Archives as being produced. It does not guarantee authenticity. The service papers would be better than extract as it would be noted if any parts were not oem during service.

Thank you, that's what I was thinking as well. I think I'll pass on the additional cost of the extract.
