1680 red: some crowns stick out, some don’t. Normal?

I have a bunch of 1680 red subs and some crowns stick out from the case and some close flush. Is the variance normal or is one “original”?

I’m attaching a picture of 4 of them. They’re different variations of flush and sticking out:

If you do a quick search of the forum, you'll find a number of threads addressing this question. A small gap is necessary for proper sealing. If you're concerned, take it to your watchmaker and ask if they can make it look better.

I saw the other threads but I was hoping someone could opine on the variances between mine and establish which of them is “correct” or most correct - none are perfectly flush but there’s a lot of variation in the gaps

Might have to do with how the case tube is set?

I think you may want to verify which 7mm crowns/tubes you have on your different subs.
24-700 vs 24-702 vs 24-703 all have different gasket setups and seal differently.
Crown gap distance adjustments can be either tube, crown, stem, or gasket related.

You have 702 and 703 crowns shown and I suspect different Tubes
