Torture Testing Bell & Ross BR03-92 From 2007

Always loved the pilot style of Bell & Ross' timepieces. Alas, their large size waaaaaay back when was a bit much at 46mm. So when the BR03-92 was released, this <cough> 'smaller' </cough> 42mm was still considered kinda big back then. Loving the style my AD allocated me one from the first batch (it was a kinda hot piece when first released). She was purchased for when racing Formula 2000, so dial clarity was key and the ability to take a literal beating.

Today, all told, she has been through years of racing, swimming, and all-around beater-ship. After 16 years she's never been serviced and still keeps accurate time. As this is the BR03-92 first release (2007), these came with an ETA movement (for those curious).

The one funny thing is, many years ago when my wife first saw it on my wrist we both agreed it looked a bit big on my 6.75" wrist. Wearing it today, 16 years later, the 42mm size looks normal.

Sweet 16 and still going strong.

Love the 03-92, have had several and been rolling with this one for a while. Probably too big for my wrist, not something I worry about with this one.

Thanks guys and agreed, the size is no worries. Will continue 'torture testing' this timepiece until she finally... (then off to service).

I love the BR-03, in fact I have two and they’re my favourite watches!

torture test update to add data.

+1 sec/day worn 24/7, the amplitude is 255 to 286, beat error is .6ms. Color me still very impressed for an abused ~16 year old never serviced timepiece.
