Help on a new ‘fun’ casual watch

Hey All -
Looking for a little input. I’d like to get a new watch that’s a little more fun than anything else I have in my collection currently. Thinking brighter color dial/bezel, maybe a little gold.

I’m definitely a diver guy but this one needs to be in a strap, under 43mm case (prefer 41-42), and under $5k.

The 2 I have been drawn to so far are the Oris Aquis Bicolor (blue and gold) and the Omega Seamaster 300M with summer blue dial.
I do own an Omega PO that I love but have never owned an Oris but am intrigued by the brand. The Oris can be had gray market for under $3k but the Omega still pushes $5k when it can be found.

Thoughts on these 2 watches and any others I should consider? Excited to hear your input!

As an Aqua Terra owner and lover (the 15000 Gauss “Bumble Bee”) I’d throw in the Summer Blue AT that truly looks gorgeous. Pushes your budget just a tiny bit.

I’ve always loved the Aqua Terra and was actually looking at the summer blue one earlier today. I think the reason I’ve never pulled the trigger on one is because every watch I’ve ever owned with a polished bezel just seemed to scratch up a lot more than a typical diver.

That said, I do really like it so let’s add it to the list!

Thanks!

What about Doxa? When I read ‘color’ this is what first jumped to mind for some reason. They are easy on the wallet, and offer color options on strap too.
Not sure if looking for a diver per se.

Your options above are both very nice. I have always liked that Omega, but when I clicked on the Oris I was pleasantly surprised.
I’m guessing you haven’t necessarily been able to try them both on. But take a look at Doxa watches.

I know! I looked at those also. There’s just something about that case shape that I just don’t think it’s for me.

Thanks!

It does scratch a bit but not that dramatically. I had mine serviced after 10 years, Omega did some minor polishing and it looks brand new.

The polished parts of the bracelet are a bit more sensitive but if you get it on the cool rubber strap that shouldn’t be an issue.

I am looking into a Sinn as a rugged, casual model.

I have an 857 with their Tegimented case on black rubber strap. The watch is a beast! It wears really well, the 43mm case wears more like 41-42, the rubber strap is substantial, and I wear it hard and it has yet to scratch. Great watch! Good luck and enjoy!

Of the two listed, the 300 by miles . Very nice watch. Plus, if you are so inclined later, very to add a bracelet to mix it up a bit. I have owned an Oris (not this one) and have no issue with it, built like a tank. Just of these two the Omega is the winner.

I prefer the Oris of the two. It has the sharper details and the helium escape valve on the Omega can be awkward looking.

Oh man! You guys arent making this easy!!! I love my Omega PO which draws me to the Omegas but I dont own an Oris and it is an intriguing independent brand with an in-house movement that has some impressive specs. It is definitely the gaudier of the now three options, at least to my eye.

Alright, so @Audevache mentioned the Omega Aqua Terra in Summer Blue and the more I stare at it, the more I like it. I am going to add that to the mix as well!!!

So now we are between 3 options!

Here is a link to the Aqua Terra.

How about a pre owned S&G Chrono the pan and put it on a nice Vanguard integrated strap - that would still be within budget?

The Summer Blue is much better in person than pictures. That's my recommendation.

Oris Aquis and Tudor Pelagos are the best at that price point in my opinion. Both beat expectations on the wrist.
