added a Coke and Pepsi 16710

Well prices for me in these late 1990s early 2000s watches are looking Juicy and I pulled the trigger on a couple of them as a pair deal. 13 each they are in decent shape and all of the papers and booklets and the boxes where included

I just find these older versions so sexy and appealing

6542 (1959) Pussy galore I need to hunt down a 7206/80 bracelet
1680 (1969) Red Sub Mark 2 - she’s been ridden hard lol
16710 (2000) Y serial solid end links
16710 (2001) K serial

Not sure what I would add to this in the older vintage pieces down the line.

Hate to bring this up, but the number 2's on the pepsi bezel look flat bottomed, which suggests the pepsi bezel isn't genuine.

Can you post close up photos of the pepsi bezel?

Compare the 2's between the coke and the pepsi and you'll see what I mean. I also have a coke and have previously bought a fake pepsi bezel and the fake pepsi bezels have flat bottomed 2's.

This insert was purchased at an AD in Munich and looks just like the OP's Pepsi.

They look different, the bottom of the 2's on yours follow the curvature of the bezel.
Look at the 22 on the bezel, you can see the difference between yours and OP's bezel. The 2's on the OP's bezel are flat bottom, they dont follow the curvature. It's easy to see on the 22.

Source: I purchased a fake pepsi bezel and when I went to my rolex AD the boutique manager spotted my pepsi and told me it was fake. He then told me all fake bezels have flat bottomed 2's. I then went on ebay/google and searched replica bezels and he was right. All fakes have flat bottomed 2's. Genuine bezels have curved bottom 2's.

For all OP knows, he could've bought 2 cokes, one with a fake pepsi bezel.

Serif and sans (non) serif is the terminology

I do see this now that it’s pointed out. Hopefully just an insert issue.

Congratulations OP! Great collection!

Congrats OP! Hopefully the bezel question is easily sorted out. I love the 5 digit GMTs.

Why not just buy one and get the bezel for the other colourway?

I’m ordering a jubilee bracelet for the Pepsi version and I like the OF on the Coke. Personal preference but that’s my opinion on what I think looks best

...but you might have two "original" Coke models since the Pepsi insert is allegedly an after-market version. I guess it could have replaced the original Pepsi insert?

Presumably the only difference would be the suffix on the hang tag. Can’t see how that matters.

It definitely matters if the watch with the Pepsi bezel wasn’t originally built as a Pepsi.

Have to agree the 16710 is a very versatile watch get all 3 inserts 3 different watches for around $75 per insert.

Just as a note, not just different bezel colors (and I agree, unfortunately Pepsi looks like after market), but also different dials.

The Coke is a “serif” dial (look at the larger hour lines by the hour markers and the GMT Master font), and the Pepsi is a sans-serif dial.

nice watch adds. But I have to agree that OPs pepsi bezel does look different than original rolex OEM - mine bought from AD

Again to keep records straight, a Y serial is probably 2002/2003 and a K is 2001/2002.

Beautiful watches - I've been looking to add in that window as well. I think a holes case with SEL is the best iteration of the 16710!

Wow that Coke GMT looks amazing. I’ve been really interested in the 5 digit GMTs.

I need to see these in person.

16710s are great. My wife got herself a 16710 Pepsi, great sharp case, for 10k (no box or papers).

My advice is to focus on condition. We didnt care about box/papers.

A great reference

Great insights here. Learned something today!
I raced to look at my Pepsi 16710…..even knowing it came new from my AD way back when.
Curved 2’s.
