Torn between OP36 black or silver dial

I would like to solicit your opinion on which one to choose.
I have the opportunity to acquire either one from AD and the window is short (they let me choose first until tomorrow).
I currently have a DJ in aubergine dial, I personally value legibility a lot.
I feel OP36 will be a great value and no frill watch for me.
I like the black color because of its high contrast of dial and hands, but I also like the silver dial with golden tone hands.
Can someone here post some real life pictures of both and suggest one over the other?

Another note, my wrist is fairly small (about 6.5”), so I opt for 36mm OP, but I feel black or dark color dial looks small on wrist and silver or lighter color dial looks larger.

PS I can only have one, so get both is not an option

If I go with dark color dial I may choose 40mm which is not available now.
I feel 36mm OP is borderline small for me. Light color dial makes it look bigger

A 36mm OP is most definitely not too small on a 6.5" wrist, especially given how chunky the lugs on the OP are compared to the Datejust.

Ditto! I have the white (discontinued). Same…dress up or down. IMHO I think the silver dial looks more formal. Good luck deciding & happy shopping! Lol

I prefer black. I’m not a fan of the silver/gold dial. I Wish they kept it all silver like the OP Datejust 36mm.

Silver OP is a very different OP. Check it out in person and see why it’s different than the rest of the OP lineup.

I love the classic look of the Silver... if you choose Black, please let me know where the Silver is located and I'll fly in to try and secure the Silver for myself

I am in Canada, so I think you will be financially worse off by flying here to get the silver. :)
I will let you know anyway by tomorrow.

Can someone post some real life silver OP here? I have never seen one in person though.

I have the black. Can’t go wrong. It will still be a classic 20 years from now.

At 6.5” your wrist is perfect for a 36mm OP no matter what dial colour…I prefer black but you can’t go wrong with either.

36 will look great, I have a DJ blue and Exp 1 both 36 and are very legible because of the dark dials. I think silver is very nice but it will not be as legible.

It's a very easy choice black mate. I have a black dial 126000 it's my everyday watch, I would never sell it. Go black bb

Silver with gold hands no question for the 36 OP. Special with more style compared to the black, IMHO. If a black dial, I would go for the Explorer.

Exactly right! The 36 silver OP is stunning IRL! The 36 Explorer is just plain cool. I love both, in different ways.

BTW, my wrist is 6 1/2 inches.

Gold hour markers on the silver dial.
I got the silver dial 36mm, perfect for my 6.5 inch wrist.

A black dial watch is always going to be the easiest to read, but I’ve not had any difficulty reading my silver dial 36.

Agreed. I had the OP 36 silver and found the gold/silver contrast hard to read. Sold it and used the funds toward another color OP36 and haven’t looked back!

On a second thought, what’s the difference between OP black and explorer, other than a couple of numerals and hands shape?
I feel I would rather go with explorer if I want a black dial, and a silver OP, in ideal world like Katgirl has

That's what I would do, take the silver OP and get an Explorer. I have the Explorer, and am waiting on a silver OP.

As far as differences, the black OP has a sunburst dial vs the Explorer's gloss black, the OP has 20mm lugs vs Exp 19, and the OP has a rounded bezel vs Exp flat.

Well, and the clasp. Clasp is a big one.
