I admit...I watched the short film several times as well. Another WIS - Fr John - turned me on to it on another Forum.

I now have two watches mentioned in the film - a classic sub and a Speedmaster Pro - albeit the non vintage versions

Seeing this film pushed me over the top to pony up to a Rolex.

However, I don't think I will be buying a Richard Mille watch anytime soon. Man, they are really cool though.

I guess I should have said this film says as much about watches as the people who buy them....maybe more re: the latter. Man, these guys are throwing down some serious CASH!

Great video, I am glad to see they they thing Rolex is one brand that is a good buy for its quality, style, design, and value long term. I love my Rolex and plan to buy other rolex's in the near future. I would like to own other brands as well but the idea od spending 100k for a watch is a little mind boggling!!!

Thanks for linking to the video, I hadn't seen it either. Wonder when it was recorded? Sounds like it was at the very peak of the boom with some of the prices they were quoting.

Glad folks like it...

One of my favorite scenes is the one where the film maker is telling the Watch Guru how he wants to consolidate his watch collection so he can get down to just ONE watch he can use for all occasions... The Watch Guru get's this knowing / sly grin on his face as he as heard it all before - and he wishes the guy luck with it! I am sure some folks here can relate

Question for our British WIS's... Who IS that British actress trying on men's watches? I have watched that scene a few times, but the sound is poorly recorded when the narrator mentions her name / calls her a national treasure????

The British actress in the film is called Felicity Kendall. She is probably most famous for appearing in a BBC comedy series called the Good Life.
