Got offered a WG YM 42mm today

The SA sent a "hey come take a look at this" text. Love the way the Oysterflex fit - the glidelock is a thing of beauty with that strap, I'm just not interested in the watch and don't want to buy and flip just for the helll of it (don't even know what the Grey Dealer buy price is). I'm waiting on something special and expecting in the next month or so.

Pity you didn’t like it as I think they look great. But I’m sure something will turn up sooner rather than later

I doubt these are ‘flippable’ for a profit in todays market

Not making any calls, but taking a quick look around, I suspect you are very much correct. it would be 32835 USD out the door with sales tax. Doubt I could break even.

One of the few in the current Rolex lineup I’d consider buying

That is a beautiful watch! However, I agree about not buying what you don't want to keep.
My wife and I have been offered quite a few Rolex by our long time AD. Including Daytona on 4 separate occasions over many years. We didn't accept as nether of us want the Daytona. It is a beautiful watch, just not for us. Been wearing Rolex since the 1980's and have yet to sell one. Hope the one you want gets to you soon!

You’re not flipping that for a profit.

don't think these ever took off even when they were just announced. feels like a huge premium to pay just to get white gold lugs and a clasp. nothing against the watch itself just think it's horribly priced and wouldn't be surprised if it's one of rolex's slowest movers

Nice watch but one that has never stuck in my collection as I have owned it twice.

I find this so interesting

You owned it twice ?

Did you loose a lot of money on each transaction ?

I think 42mm is too big.

That’s like telling me that a size 14 shoe is “too big.”

I got offered one as well last week. Not to my taste either.

FYI, they're going below retail in secondary market as are the majority of PM Rolex models nowadays.

I find it funny how AD's are still calling customers for these hard to sell models. They should just put them in the case and stop the calling people. I think Rolex is staying on their high horse and wont show inventory in their cases for a while. What is the illusion when everyone knows they have growing inventory?

Agreed. They would sell it easy. I love this model, and would buy, if funds allowed.

I’ve been offered this multiple times in the past from an AD. Every time I would say no thank you, a few months go by, then another text asking if I would be interested. After a while I started thinking, does this person even know my taste and how many times I’ve already turned this reference down?

My personal taste aside, buy it if you like it—but don’t think you’d be able to sell it for more than you paid. I’m almost certain you’d be underwater.

If you don’t like don’t buy it. A lot of other people are waiting for this watch. I would like to get the call for this one.

Market's dead. Buy to wear and enjoy or don't buy.

Personally not a fan of this YM, many other pieces I'd get before.

I may entertain it if it were in half of the current price.

Nice watch but not for me. There is something lacking to make it special.
