Incoming: Grand Seiko SLGH005 white birch
Exploring the mangrove swamp with my new Shirakaba.
Bought it used for what I believe to be a fair price of US$5,185.00 including local sales tax. Full set with most of the warranty still remaining (January 2023). Lovely watch, and the most comfortable one I’ve ever owned despite its lack of an on-the-fly bracelet micro adjust feature. Externally, this watch is finished to a degree that would command a far higher retail price tag if it were a Swiss brand. Internally, no real comment because I’m no expert. Seems like a functional and industrial finish with not much in the way of a decorative finish. But it’s mesmerising to see the escapement spin at such a high velocity. Absolute joy to wear this next generation Grand Seiko wristwatch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Verg beautiful watch. Congratulations and wear it in great health.
I will agree that just like Rolex, most GS movements' finish is nothing to write home about [compared to other high(er) tier brands] but at least being able to see one tick is always a welcome thing. Again, nothing wrong with the way they are finished, it seems price - appropriate and I'dtake engineering and durability over decoration any day.

Thank you, everyone. Proud to be part of the GS owners club. The value proposition of preowned GS is superb.

As a bonus, the case # happens to match my birthday. A happy coincidence.

Congratulations! As seemingly usual with Grand Seiko, they've created a stunning dial here.

Such a great watch, terrific dial. I look at finishing of the movements as nice to have, but more importantly, you have a fantastic movement, well designed and made.
