Confetti dials

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Rolex general discussion or in "other watches", but as it concerns a style of dial that's generally associated with Rolex I thought I'd put it here.

I really like confetti dials and have a vintage Girard Perregaux with a brown confetti dial. To my eyes, it looks practically identical in execution to the Rolex Day Date ones.

Do you reckon this was made in the same factory as the Rolex ones? If so, who would have made these - Singer perhaps?

I can't find any other vintage examples of exactly this type of "brown" confetti dial other than from Rolex and GP, and in both cases they seem to be quite rare. Rolex also did a "black" confetti dial.

The brown ones always seem to be paired with solid gold cases (always Day Dates with Rolex I think), while the black ones are usually with white gold Day Dates or steel Datejusts.

So I solved the mystery of who made these dials!

Someone in another forum pointed out that at least Rolex dials are often signed on the back. I remembered that when I'd had the Girard Perregaux HF serviced the watchmaker took photos, including of the back of the dial.

Looks like the GP brown confetti dials were made by Beyeler, and I'd bet quite a lot of money that the Longines and Rolex ones were too:



I know that the GP and Longines ones are identical microscopically - it would be great to have it confirmed that the Rolex ones have exactly the same structure:
