Which combo would you buy? Rolex vs Holy Trinity lineup

Dear TRF,

I’m currently saving up this year and preparing to add two to three watches next year.

Which combo do you prefer?

A) Rolex Lineup:

B) Holy Trinity Lineup:

Current collection: 1) Rolex Submariner(116610LV), 2) Rolex GMT-Master II(126710BLNR), 3) Breitling B01 Navitimer 43(AB0138211B1A1)

Why because they are more expensive yes they have great movements but myself dont like there style in watches so would never buy one, but watches are all down to personal choice .

I find if you have a couple options to wear in Rolex sport models you never really find yourself reaching for the date just. I’d go with a Rolex gmt, a Patek and the Vacheron. Although I’d recommend trying that VC on in person before buying. It wears huge and the proportions look different in person

I’m confused. Are there two separate Rolex options?

I like the 2nd Rolex combo, but would probably go for a different Day-Date configuration/dial colour

A true ‘Holy Trinity’ for a watch collection wouldn’t have a Rolex in it.
Patek, AP, and VC ..
now of course you can create your own trinity, that’s purely personal choice, if a Rolex trinity I’d want PM, Vintage and Sports .. Platinum Day Date, GMT OG and Daytona or Sub ..
As for Patek, go to the showroom, learn about them, trip to Geneva Museum is awe inspiring to say the least, horological beauty ..

I would add one from VC, AP or Patek and see where you go from there, once the addition is broken in. Adding three as one decision is challenging to me.

Obviously totally up to you and your situation. If I were to offer my opinion based on my own line of thinking, I'm not a fan of the HT lineup because there's no easy daily wearer there.

Navitimer only have 30M WR always bothered me and why I sold the one I had. Wouldn't daily it. Wouldn't daily the two HT pieces although the VC Dual Time comes close esp due to the strap options. Wouldn't daily a green dial watch (Hulk) nor a 41mm DJ fluted/jubilee although I know many people do.

The BLNR really anchors the other options nicely due to it being a terrific durable daily wearer for basically any situation. If you were willing to swap the Datejust for the BLNR, the HT option becomes my favorite hands down.

If you were strict on the options given, I'd take the second Rolex grouping.

I'd look at dropping the gold Daytona from first set and picking up a SS one as you've shown in the second set. I'd then try get the AP from third set. Navi to also go.

Would leave BLNR, DJ, Hulk, SS Daytona, AP.

I guess I'd say option B, but forget the Bretiling and add a Patek so you have the trinity.

Also, that VC dual time does not wear that huge, no bigger than the AP.
