I don't know what these are. Even stock pictures would help.

that's the 126506 not 116506. imo the dial on the 116506 with baguettes is much nicer and i still can't get past the fluted bezel on the platinum day date and think it makes the platinum less special, so i'd go with the 116506

Not trying to be contrary lol but genuinely a grail for me and I feel the nicest DD out there (especially with the new fluted bezel….its just stunning)

Let us know which you pick! I know you have a great collection already so excited to see what you add!

Two completely different watches. I would choose a DD 99 times out of 100 over a Daytona, but I vehemently do not like it in 40mm. Call me a purist. In this case, I'd take the Daytona.

Tough one. I love the new fluted DD, but the platinum Daytona is amazing. Very different, but don’t think I could choose between the two. What else do you own?

Surprised by the poll results. The day date is the ultimate in my opinion and the more useable watch complication wise

+2

Would imagine market value at play. If I was offered either one for free, I’d take the Daytona, sell it, buy the DD and pocket the difference.

I’m wearing my platinum day date today and I love it but I’d definitely trade it for a platinum Daytona.

But if I was buying grey- like I did- I would go with the day date again.

So, hate to bring money/ value into it but for me it’s a pretty big factor.

I love the DD in platinum, but the version without the fluted bezel. I find the non-fluted bezel really adds a special unique look with the dial. I find the fluted bezel takes away the special look of the ice-blue dial. So, if it's the fluted bezel DD in platinum, I would choose the Daytona in this case.

That Daytona is beautiful. I like DDs too but no comparison here - the Daytona is the winner by a country mile.

Very hard choice. Both are great and I really would struggle with this decision. If pressed I’d lean towards pt DD though with fluted bezel. You have an incredible collection and either would fit in well. Good luck.

Both are equally beautiful, especially with baguettes

To me, when I think PM Rolex, I think Day Date

That Daytona is my grail but I would gladly accept the DD as my consolation prize.
