16233 End Link Not Flush to Case

Hi all, I just got a new to me 16233 datejust but I noticed that one of the end links is especially loose against the case. You can hear it pinging back and forth against the case while handling the watch. Any idea on possible fix if there is one?

could be as simple as a bent springbar. Best to take it to a rolex certified watchmaker.

You need to look at the two wings I circled in the photo. Sometimes they'll be bent outwards from a strap change or wear and tear. You'll need to adjust them by carefully bending them back in place so that the end link sits tightly against the watch case. Also, consider replacing your spring bars with good quality OEM parts if possible; I believe the spring bars for your watch are 1.8mm thick.

Just wanted to put the resolution in case another noob like me wanders across this in the future! I brought the watch in to a repair shop today, it turned out that the spring bar had been switched with a thinner size than OEM. But even with the switch back to OEM there was still a bit of play, so the jeweler clamped the ends of the link down just a bit.

Along with resizing the bracelet, I was charged a grand total of $5! He even threw it up on the timographer (+20/sec so not great…). But I was happy just to get it fitting and looking properly, I highly recommend Watch Masters in St. Louis! Great to work with a third generation clock repairer for my first watch, taught me a lot.
