The first scratch

I've scratched my watch after 6 weeks and I don't care! It's like having a new bike and worrying about who puts their bike against yours in case it gets marked.

Freedom in a way, but I always knew the watch would get marked as it wasn't bought for an investment.

Congrats on your first scratch! I could go head to head for a few years and probably have more scratches. The more you get, the less noticeable they are. Scratches don't really have much impact on the "bought for investment" aspect of a mass produced modern Rolex. Enjoy it and create more scratches.

Scratches mean the watch is alive and participating in the world. It's not a problem.

My precious Batgirl's first scratches. It hurts because I just got her back in January. I'm normally very careful with my watches, but I guess you can't be too careful when you're picking up an 8yr old and carrying her around because they're tired of walking.

Also time to remove the last stickers on the down side of the clasp? Or does it look like that?

I don’t really count clasp scratches since it rubs on things all the time… pretty impressive that’s all you have after 6-weeks. Case scratches hurt for a few days. Hope you are enjoying the sub!

Scratched my sub TWICE on the polished parts the first day I wore it to work. 3 days after I got it. One is still visible but all the others lost in sea of swirls and hairline marks. I looked for it when I posted this and realized the leading edge (crown side) gets a lot more marks than the trailing edge. Which makes sense.

You'll get used to it.

A tear has been shed for each one of these.

Kidding. I daily my GMT Master ii and it’s my buddy and companion, through the thick and thin.

(It’s actually funny I hadn’t even thought about all the scratches on this watch until I read this thread.)
