2 x Incoming and Question

I purchased 2 new Breitlings; Chronomat B01 42 ice blue dial and Classic Avi Chronograph 42 Mosquito. My son will receive the Avi to commemorate an achievement in his life later this year. However, I am still deciding whether to keep the Chronomat or trade it for Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch.

What I like about Chronomat:
- the light blue sunburst dial is absolutely amazing, even better in person than on any pics
- the 200M water resistance
- the platinum bezel and its shine
- the tachymeter scale on dial
- the darker blue chronograph second hand with indices on dial (hour divided in 100)
- the date which hides at 6 o'clock sub-dial
- the rubber bracelet with deploying buckle
- 70 hrs power reserve automatic movement visible through sapphire

What I like about Moonwatch:
- the story/history
- the monochrome colors and its wearability
- the countless strap exchange options (the new Omega steel bracelet); I would likely wear it on NATO for some time
- the movement visible on the back
- the size

While I have 4 other Breitlings, I do not own Omega.

Would you keep the Chronomat or would you get the Moonwatch?

That's a tricky one.
The Chronomat does look amazing, but personally I look for two things in a watch: day to day wearability year round (which means I prefer smaller and slimmer watches i.e. max 42mm or less) and the watch rather being an understatement instead of screaming for attention.
Now I'm not a huge fan of the Speedy, I'd probably more enjoy a Breitling Premier as a chronomat watch, but in your case it would make sense having the speedmaster as your only Omega watch next to your other Breitlings.
Where do you usually trade your watches?

I am not a big trader, but if I move the Chronomat, I would either use TRF, DavidSW, or Bucherer. I traded one time through Chrono24 and the transaction went fine without hiccups.

That's cool! I've been considering a trade in through Chrono24, but sending out my watch would've been a first and still not so sure about the process.

Did you mean the Bucherer in Vienna or do they so trade ins online?

Double Congratulations for you and your son! I would say with Chronomat in your position and just buy Moonswatch if you want Omega Speedmaster look.

Considering your collection, then I would be looking towards a speedy - The question then becomes "black" or "white".

Thank you, I looked at Swatch, but reminds me of my younger days, and I rather enjoy the “real stuff”. Also, clarification on my collection, I have other watch brands. However, I am only considering to either keep the Chronomat or trade for Moonwatch.

I have owned both of the Breitling watches and they are nice. The Speedmaster is special and while there are multiple variations, it is the one for me. I own the 1861 and the new white dial 3861 and the black dial 3861 in sapphire. The Speedmasters are strap monsters and do well with OEM straps and bracelets but also secondary market straps. I would decide which one of the Speedmasters you want and do the trade. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
