Currently sitting in the waiting room at Dallas HQ
Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster here. Just wanted to give a major shoutout to the forum for bringing me hete. You see, I was lurking the board several months ago and saw someone post about Rolex opening a new watchmaking school in Dallas, and, to make a long story short, I applied. 2 interviews and a test later, and I'm sitting in the lobby of the US headquarters waiting on my final interview.
Whoever posted that however many months ago, I really appreciate you. |

Good for you! I actually suggested the school as a career path for my oldest grandson, who is a Junior in High School. He has always been a tinkerer, and is probably not college bound. He happens to live in Dallas. We need more people who know how to work on these wonderful little machines. Good luck to you! Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

That's awesome! I took a watchmaking class a few years ago but it seemed very difficult to turn it into a lucrative career. Good on you and good luck :)

This program comes with a job, at an RSC upon successful completion, and a monthly stipend while training. It’s an excellent opportunity for young people with the kind of mindset and manual dexterity needed for this occupation. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Students do receive a $1800/mth stipend for the 18 month training. They then must successfully complete their final exam at the Rolex factory in Geneva. Once they are certified they do have a job, but not necessarily at an RSC. My son was told that the majority of new technicians are destined for new AD locations. Any prospective new dealer must have a certified tech on staff. |

Nice one OP, good luck!
It might differ around the world, but here in Europe it is a pretty decent salary as a Rolex watchmaker. It won't make you rich but it's comfortable for sure. |
