Can’t Go Direct to RSC Anymore?
Just saw a Facebook post where someone is claiming you can no longer send your watch to the RSC directly; you have to go through an AD. Can anyone else confirm this?
This will be a huge change if so, especially for those who don’t have an AD near them or a bad relationship with that AD. Furthermore, it introduces price complications. My local AD in the past has charged/quoted a slight premium over the price I can get accessories from the RSC (e.g. links, Tudor fabric straps, etc…). |

This is correct.
Just got mine back last week. Only AD can send off. I think it is better since the AD will find a replacement if it gets stolen during transit. They carry the burden of loss.

I disagree about it being better. It’s nice to have the AD option, but for those of us comfortable with hearing the risk ourselves, it was preferable to deal with Rolex directly. As Rolex closes more doors, it just makes this process more inconvenient. |

I just TT Rolex Dallas a week ago. They stopped sending the shipping box and label. Now the instruct you how to ship it to them. YOU DON'T need AD to send your watch.. This is in US

You just have to ask for the shipping box, I got 2 of them a few weeks ago and sent two watches to RSC Dallas and I just got the email they are done.

Not here. You can book an appointment and go in person which I’ve done many times.
EDIT: I have never shopped a watch to RSC though, so perhaps that has changed.. |

I hope not true in US. I have tried to send through my AD and they want to fix there in store which I do not prefer. Really pushy. I said I would like them to ship to Dallas RSC and they said there wasn’t a service center in Dallas! I shipped it there myself the next day. Really hope I can still send directly in future.

I was at AD this weekend and got the confirmation that I can either send the watch via AD or bring the watch directly to RSC. RSC will require an appointment.

Unless things have changed in the past two weeks, this is not the case at the Toronto RSC.

I called RSC Dallas today; they were closed yesterday.
1. They said they're still accepting mail-ins directly from customers. So, false alarm. 2. Mail kits are no longer provided to customers. That's a bummer in my opinion. 3. While they recommend USPS Registered Mail for the insurance available, they said they now accept shipments however you want to send them (UPS, FedEx). |

It would make no sense to burden ADs with shipping of watches for service where they did not even sell the watch.

Wondering…
If the ad’s ship the watch directly to RSC, do they add a shipping charge on top of the service? If so how much was it?

Authorized Dealers are not supposed to charge for shipping a Rolex to a service center. I am not positive on return shipping.

For some service centres this is certainly the case. Others, not at all. Hate Rolex… lol

Not sure it's for all service centers.
