Difference between the 5513/5514/5517

I've been looking for a 1977 production Sub for my brother's birthday present and found that the reference numbers 5513/5514/5517 all fall within the year 1977. What is the difference between the three?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

The 5513 was a regular production model. The 5517s are military issue models and rare/expensive.

Here is a link for the famous 5514. =) maverick

Thanks Maverick - do you have a guesstimate of what I should be paying for a very good condition 5513 from 1977?

I guess that depends upon whether or not you get one with papers, box etc., rough guess range US$6-8K

Icon14 Please Don't Forget....

That on top of everything else....
A 1977 is known as the "MAXI DIAL I"
(Maxi Dial #1)
Something to think about in their collectability, and future value too.

See and Enjoy info on the Rolex "5513 Maxi Dials", and their history here:

Thanks guys for all the valuable information. I still have yet to locate one from a trusted source. There are a few posted on eBay, but some look like Frankenwatches to me.

Do let me know if you come across anything.

Cheers,

Eric
