Advice - Looking to buy DateJust - is it real?

I am looking to purchase this watch. It is in eBay, with their authentication. I have communicated multiple times with the seller, and they always respond quickly. This is my first Rolex, and I want to make sure what I am buying.
Thanks

It looks to me like a genuine reference 16233 Datejust with a no-holes case, mid-90's or newer. The bezel, crown, and bracelet show a fair amount of wear but definitely a wearable watch. Nice creme Roman pyramid dial. Whether it's worth the price is your decision.

The reference number given by the OP wouldn't be a 26mm case.

Right but I think the commenter saying 16233 may be wrong. Looks 26 to me but I could be wrong. Look 36 to you?

It is a reference number 16233, but don’t think I put that originally. It is a 36mm, so it must be just the small hands in the pic.

I am working to get the serial number.

What is the serial number's prefix letter and first few digits?

The dial's got me wondering if it's a service or aftermarket.

Yes - unless those are super tiny hands holding it in the pictures.

.
Watch is good. Dial referred to as Pyramid, Anniversary, small Roman dial, etc..

Partial green sticker in the back.

Hopefully price is attractive. Box papers?

Good luck

Box, but no papers. Would be eBay authenticated. Asking $650
Worth it?

Pyramid dials do help DJs achieve better pricing. $6500 is a good asking price but condition here should matter and OP might make an offer under $6K.

Thanks, everyone, for your expertise and advice.

I will keep you posted as I continue discussing with the dealer.

For its age, it's commonly seen stretch
- certainly not tight.
What service history does the seller have?

If none, expect additional cost for a service. I just took in a very nice DJ TOG and it's dry inside. Total service needed - but I negotiated a split of service costs using an indie watchmaker.

If you go RSC for a service - expect $800 up to 1200 if it's perished inside. Things like auto-wind rotor, mainspring and barrel, all gaskets, maybe even tube and crown.

Be sure the seller is trustworthy. Get their agreement to refund if RSC says it's stolen. It's more than the watch itself that you are buying. It's also the seller.

Genuine. Grossly overpriced, however.

The bracelet stretch bothers me.
26mm is a small watch by todays standards, I will assume you are a woman with narrow wrists.
To take the doubt of authenticity out of the equation we have many trusted sellers on this forum who can help you and you can deal with 100% peace of mind.
The clasp- Rolex has moved away from this style, I believe for security on your wrist.
Hands-the more modern Rolex watches have thicker hands for ease of reading the time
Price: way over priced.
Your coin.

You are probably correct, I cannot tell, a poster above brought up this point.
Still at 36mm it is a pass for me.

Hi, did you end up buying the watch? I own a newer version of this watch. I bought mine for $8k USD preowned. Warranty card dated 2015. Reference 116233.

Ivory Pyramid Roman 16233 with significant stretch on the bracelet and the fluted bezel is almost polished smooth. No way worth $6500! I purchased a bnib one exactly the same from my local AD back in 1994. I would look for a 116233.

Try to find an at least near mint original. You will be happier in the end. And won't care about the money.
