How much play between links on new oyster bracelet

Hi all recently got my first rolex, brand new. I'm wondering, how much play, or side to side movement is expected between each of the links? It's an oyster bracelet. There's no significant flop when holding the watch sideways, but there is just a little bit of side to side movement between each of the links. This makes the bracelet have a little bit of wiggle room and jingle a bit when shaken. Just trying to assess to what degree this is normal. thanks all

Sounds about right. If it's a new Oyster bracelet it may also squeak but this won't last long.

Give bracelet and clasp a wash in soap and water rinse well after and pat dry with any clean cotton type cloth.

Enjoy the sqeak. As Harry says it’s because it’s brand new

I wouldn’t try and get rid of the squeak. Enjoy it! You’ll miss it when it’s gone.

I’m surprised you’re noticing much play. My oyster bracelet is by far the most solid feeling bracelet I’ve ever had. (A very slight rattle if I hold the watch head and wobble the hanging bracelet side to side.)

I'm definitely not concerned about the squeak. Only the degree to which there is play or movement between the links. Your description of the slight rattle is helpful. I also notice this in mine, but just trying to assess to what degree this is normal (in terms of how much or how little this occurs). When held horizontal it can be pushed up about a mm or so, and then falls back down the mm due to gravity.

I have a video of this ready but need to get to 10 posts before sharing imgur links. I'd like to try to be mindful of not spamming just to reach this

Hi, I attached some photos. This point shows the attachment between end link and first link. Between the two photos you can see the amount of play. Each of the links have about this much play, which contributes overall to the slight rattle of the bracelet and about a 1-2mm of play of the whole bracelet when held by the case and letting the bracelet hang horizontal and pushed upwards.

Admittedly these photos don't nearly show in detail as it does in the video.
