I just bought my first Rolex! But I'm not sure it's legit...
Can someone help me? I just bought my first Rolex, and explorer 124270 36 but I'm not sure about the authenticity. I bought it without box or card, but the seller on chrono24 was full of egregious reviews. Just to be sure, cna you check the images I uploaded?

Egregious reviews?
Because your location is given as "Italy", perhaps I can assume English is not your first language. Did you really mean that the seller had "egregious" reviews?
In modern English, egregious means "outstandingly bad; shocking" and the sample sentence for context is "egregious abuse of copyright". You may not be getting help with your question because of this (why on earth would someone buy from a seller with egregious reviews?) and also because the photos are not good enough for a detailed examination. |

It "looks" ok based on these photos, but I know the fakes have gotten quite accurate. Any chance you can take pics of the movement? Chrono24 has a 14 day gauranteed period for inspection as well, perhaps pop into a watch store for them to take a look?

It amazes me how people ask these questions after they buy and not before.

Why is it funny? Does that serial number mean it's not legit? |

No. Delete this photo in your first post if you still can. Never show the SN on the internet!

Thank you! I removed the image, if your emoved yours you'd make me a favour :)
Egregious in italian means "elegant, fantastic" so I thought it has the same meaning in english, my fault As for a photo of the mechanism, I don'thave the tools to open my watch unfortunately. Edit: I noticed it was deleted, thanks! I am asking now because I ot suspiscious when i received the watch, it just looks like there's something off but it might be an anxiety reaction or something. Thanks for conrtributing to this thread! |

The best way to determine authenticity is to bring it to a trusted watch maker familiar with Rolex, or a Rolex service centre - their pre service inspection will tell you whether you have a fake or not. It will be difficult to assess based on photos alone.

It could be the angles of the pics, but the Rolex in the rehaut does not appear to line up correctly. The x’s on the right of the dial and the r’s on the left. People here know what I mean. They look off. They should line up perfectly with the hour markers.

Based on the photos, I don't see anything wrong with this watch.
Is there some reason why you might suspect otherwise? As to the serial number, some folks are touchy, but they are all over the Internet; there is no rule about yours being seen.

While it looks authentic, you will only know if it is legit by taking/sending it to the RSC for a service quote.
They will let you know if it needs a service, if any parts need replacing, and whether it is illegitimate (i.e., stolen). If you get the service, your watch will look splendid and you will have peace of mind (which I think is your desire to begin with). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Why not ask these questions from a pro before you lay out thousands of dollars?

Pictures are not so good? There are some things? But it could be the pictures, hard to say
I would take it to a watchmaker and have it checked by a pro. Once the movement is inspected and the dial. They can give you a yay or nay. Good luck, |

Could you please clarify to all that read this thread, why you think that.
Otherwise, your answer is of not much help to the OP.

I'm not sure why, it's just paranoia I think. The source of the watch is trustworthy, it's just that now that I think about it it came withotu box and card. I don't know...
