Icon2 New Rolex owner in Boston MA

Hello All,

First, I wish you best health and spirits.

I’m in Boston, MA, and as a first-time Rolex owner, I’ve been on the waiting list at Long’s Jewelry for 13 months for a Bluesy or any Submariner that isn’t full gold (I don’t have the budget for that yet). Unfortunately, nothing has become available.

At this point, I inquired about options under $20k that I could buy immediately. They offered me a two-tone Datejust, but since I’m not fond of the Jubilee bracelet, I passed. They then mentioned a DJ 41mm with a silver smooth Oyster bracelet and silver dial. I didn’t want to wait any longer, so I picked it up yesterday. They also mentioned that the Bluesy would take another year, and they will call me when it becomes available.

I received a compliment from one of the bankers when I stopped by to close my HELOC. I’m proud to be a Rolex owner!

Thanks for reading.

Congratulations on the Rolex & welcome. As a new Rolex owner as well (126613LN - the LB sibling), I smile every time I put on my watch. I waited a lot longer than 13 months - over 2 years but well worth the wait.

Congratulations on the Rolex. I have had a good experience at Longs in Newbury Street. They may surprise you.

Congrats on your first purchase. Somehow from the post you did not seem that excited about the DJ you bought with the silver dial. Did you buy just to have a Rolex?

I really want a Bluesy. Or any sub (not full gold, don’t want to stretch that extra budget and feel a bit too much for daily driver, even bluesy is already flashy for daily driver)
At first yes, not fully excited with the DJ.. However after 4 days wearing, It grows in me, also i feel it’s actually best for daily driver.

Not regretting at this point and very glad i made the decision, will get the Bluesy for other occasions and for a different look.

Looks like there might be critical mass for a meetup - I just purchased my first from the Longs-run Boutique - congrats!

I believe there are a fair number of us in the area. I've used Longs and Springers (NH) quite a bit.

Congrats on your first Rolex!
Long jewelers are the worst unfortunately. I would recommend to go out of state to buy a Sub. It shouldn’t take more than 3-6 months.
