Finally...after almost 5 years on "the list".

Hi, wonderful people.
Just sharing this with you all...which hopefully gives hope to many!
After almost 5 years, being on "the list", last week I received the most expected call of all times...🤣🤣🤣.
I had almost given up and was already considering buying it from a gray dealer.
But my rep (super nice guy), which I stayed in touch with all this time, finally came through.
Called me and told me to stop by the shop next day to pick up my 41mm Submariner...💥🎉🍻

Congrats and wear on good health

5 years is a long time for a sub, you must be a very patient man but then again, I guess Miami is a tough place to get new watches

5 years? That's such a long time but it's definitely worth the wait. Congratulations.

Congrats!

Waiting 5 years for a sub is quite amazing - I would have assumed I wasn’t getting one a long time before then. Hate to think how much the MSRP has increased in 5 years.

The MSRP in 5 years has basically only risen by inflation, $7500 to $9100, so the OP has lost nothing. It makes sense to spend 2 minutes to check basic figures before making assumptions.

Your number surprised me so I looked at it. The equivalent U.K. increase in that same 5 year time frame is 40% which is more what I had in mind when I posted.

That just shows the impact of exchange rate differences on top of inflation even over a relatively short period.

Can you please share the actual figures?

Sure - Here you go…

2019 retail: £5,750 (see source 1 and 2)
2024 retail: £8,050 (see source 3)

£8,050 - £5,750 = £2,300
£2,300/ £5,750 = 40.0% increase in 5 years

Five Years for a Sub????? I think you need to find a new AD. I opened this up expecting to see a white Daytona or maybe a Pepsi GMT.

Great watch, and congratulations, but that should have taken 5 months, not 5 years.

Firstly, Congrats to OP on your acquisition. No better feeling than walking out with the piece you've been coveting.

But, I agree with the post quoted above. ...My first thought after reading your post was that your AD must not think that highly of you.

Congratulations!!

Local AD to me recently told me that the Sub and GMT lists are currently suspended. They apparently do this so that realistically they’ll not be promising something that will take circa five years to obtain.

When I got my Explorer from them in Feb 2022 I asked about a 124060 Sub then and they said then the list was suspended.

Doubt I will ever get one.

Congratulations!!

I would have given up long before!

My local (small but part of WoS group) AD states that there are around 300 people waiting for a Sub - clearly the maths is not worth thinking about.

Time to enjoy and you certainly deserve it

Enjoy! Just think... when you got on the list, it wasn't even the same reference Sub!

I guess on the bright side, the new 12 series Submariner is superior to the 11!
