Depends on where you go, when you go there, who you go with, and what you do.

I would feel completely comfortable wearing either watch under that scenario.

Given how prolific counterfeits are in that region, most will probably think you acquired it at the local street market. Tourist police are fairly prevalent in the more densely populated areas. You’ll be fine.

I would only take one anyway, the hotel safes are shit and wouldn't fancy leaving anything of high value in them, high end hotel or not

To be fair though, they offer a bit more.

Of course you are going to pattaya for the beaches! Seriously, you should be fine, everyone there has a rolex-mostly fake-but I've got friends there that wear real with no issues. If you do invite new friends back to your room, don't leave nothing lying around

I'd give Pattaya a swerve altogether, and go somewhere nice, like Krabi.

I agree Pattaya is not a nice place. The grooming of young boys and girls visible in public is quite disgusting.

i've never in all my 27 years of travelling and for a while living there witnessed that... still I suppose it all depends on where you hang out

I would wear a Seiko or G-Shock and not have any issues or worry. When in doubt, there is no doubt. Skip an expensive watch.

I've been thinking about a trip to the Philippines. I have a friend there and was asking if it was safe to wear a Rolex. She had a great response and I'll paraphrase but it went something like this, "Anywhere we go you would be completely safe. But leave your expensive watch at home so you don't worry about it. You don't even need a watch. You're on vacation."

You will be fine with any of those watches in Bangkok. Watches are usually not targeted since there are so many counterfeit ones around. I’d however be prepared if getting questioned at the custom for bringing in multiple watches into the country.
